The European Union’s regulators are taking measures to introduce Google and Apple by antitrust collection, even as president of the United States Donald Trump Threatens to hit the block for allegedly “foreign extortion” of American technological giants.
The European Commission, which is the EU executive body, said on Wednesday that it found Google Parent Company Alphabet in violation of the digital markets (DMA) – a landmark law aimed at combating technology – its search and products of Google Play.
The block has accused Google search for Alphabet’s own services is more profitable than a “self-esteem” practitioner, which is not allowed within the DMA.
The EU also said that Google Play, Alphabet Mobile Application Store, prevents app developers freely manage consumers to the alternative.
Google has not yet responded to the CNBC request for comments.
The commission also sent recommendations to Apple under DMA, calling on the iPhone manufacturer to take specific steps to fulfill the interaction commitments in accordance with the EU competition rules.
Interaction refers to the practice of resolving different platforms more easily communicate with each other – in other words, you should be able to break data from one system more easily.
BLOC noted that Apple should provide interaction in the iOS mobile operating system in such a way that the third parties “develop innovative products and services on Apple Bakeeper platforms”.
In response to EU measures on Wednesday, Apple said the steps “wrap us into the red tape, slowing Apple’s ability to innovate for users in Europe and forcing us to give out our new features for free companies that do not need to play according to the same rules.”
“We will continue to work with the European Commission to help them understand our problem on behalf of our users,” the Apple press -secretary said in a CNBC statement.
The digital markets law is a landmark law aimed at reducing barriers to competition in the technology sector, in response to the rise of giants such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta and Microsoft.
Crossings on Wednesday come when Trump administration warns the EU from excessive regulation of US technological giants.
Last month Trump released Breath Threatening to impose tariffs for Europe to combat what he called the “foreign extortion” of US technology companies through taxes on digital services, fines, practice and politics.
In response EU justify threatened to use New Anti -Vytitz tool allowing the block to take measures in cases of economic coercion against EU member states.
