The organizers of the Premier League European T20 (ETPL) announced the places and dates of the inaugural edition of the new Franchise -based cricket tournament. The Premier League European T20 (ETPL) is sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Premier League European T20 (ETPL) will take place in Dublin, Ireland and Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from July 15 to August 8. The tournament will feature six teams and 33 games will be played. This league is considered an important step in expanding the cricket throughout Europe.

Unlike most leagues led by a single cricket board, ETPL is a collaborative product in Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. Each country will have two franchise teams, with teams made up of eight homemade players and a development player from a European nation.
The T20 European Premier League said in an official statement as Cricbuzz said: “Unlike other leagues typically supported by a single national board, the ETPL has the unified support of Ireland from Cricket, Cricket Scotland and Cricket Netherlands, demonstrating a level of collaboration and unprecedented commitment to grow the whole region.”
This league is designed to develop local talent and give young cricketers more likely to shine. The ETPL hopes to attract a wider European audience, even in places where the cricket is not very popular gathering several countries.

Ireland teams, meanwhile, will be based in Dublin and Belfast, while the other teams are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Premier League European T20 follows the structure of other franchise -based competitions, including a player project, but it is the first multinating event of its kind in Europe.
However, the organizers have not yet announced the formats for the Premier League European T20. Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is one of the main promoters and co -owners of the ETPL.

In the meantime, the tournament also aims to reach the public worldwide, with Europe, India, Australia and England, being some of the key markets. Currently, arrangements are in full evolution for the largest T20 League in the world, the India Premier League (IPL) in India. The next IPL 2025 is running on March 22 with the KKR who took RCB at the opening of the Eden Gardens tournament in Kolkata.
