India’s fast bowling daughter, Mohammed Shami, Little Aaira Shami, has been directed by an Islamic clergyman to celebrate the Holi Festival. The clergy stated that Aaira’s celebrations were illegal and against Shariat’s law.
The claims were presented by Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, who is the president of all Jamaat Muslim India. Razvi is the same person who has recently directed to Mohammed Shami to not follow Ramzan’s traditions during the recent conclusion Champions Trophy.
During the India Champions Trophy against Australia, it was observed that Shami was drinking water while on the limit. While some people were criticized for their actions, some were also praised to keep their country first and focus on their work.

In a video released on March 15, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi called the act of performing Holi a crime if Mohammed Shami’s daughter is wise enough. He also stated that this act would come against Shariat, which is an Islamic religious law
“She (Aaira Shami) is a small girl if he touches Holi without understanding (he is not a crime. If he is sensitive and still interprets Holi, he will be considered against Shantia,” said Razvi for India Today.
In the same video, Razvi claims to have previously appealed to Shami and his relatives to follow Islamic traditions and avoid celebrating Holi. He even mentioned that celebrating Holi will be presented under a crime according to the Shariat.
“I have appealed to (Mohammed) Shami and his relatives anything that is not in Shariat, do not let your children do it. Holi is a very large festival for Hindus, but Muslims should avoid celebrating Holi. If anyone celebrates Holi even after meeting Shariat, it is a crime.”
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi congratulated India on winning the title of the Champions Trophy and also mentioned the role of Mohammed Shami in him. He also asked Shami to follow Ramzan’s traditions after the champions trophy if he had not been able to fast during the Holy month.
“I congratulate Team India, all players and Mohammad Shami from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
India raised the Champions Trophy 2025 Championship title by defeating New Zealand in the final on March 9 in Dubai. It was the second title of the ICC of India in two years after they had already won the title of the World Cup of T20 2024 last year.
