The South Pacler -African, Anrich Nortje, has finally joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before the IPL 2025 season. Despite the concern about his physical fitness after losing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury, Anrich Nortje is already ready to have an impact for KKR in the next IPL 2025.
This is Nortje’s second career with Kolkata Knight Riders, but it will be his first opportunity to take the field for the champions defending next season, from March 22. In 2019, the Proteas star was forced to remove from the tournament without playing a single game.
However, Kolkata -based franchise once again showed Nortje once again, achieving its services for 6.5 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction last year. After joining the KKR camp, Nortje expressed his excitement to be part of the Kolkata team.
Now, the South Star -AFRICANA is looking forward to playing Eden Gardens and also acknowledged the passionate KKR Fanbase, appreciating his support and eager to take the field for the Champions Defenders of the IPL 2025 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22.

The champions Defending shared a heart video on their official X, where the franchise welcomed Nortje to the team. Nortje said in the video: “KKR was the first to support -Me and it is great to be here again (in Kolkata). Very excited for things to go and wherever it is.”
Sharing his excitement to play Eden Gardens, Nortje said: “A beautiful place, a beautiful ground to be, very excited to be and eager for this first game. Obviously, the most important thing for now is just to do the preparation, but it is nice to do it all now and therefore we hope that a success season is achieved.”
The Pealer was signed by saying, “For all fans, we cannot wait to see you on the ground. We cannot wait for you to see you in the matches. There are some people in the field with the training. Therefore, thank you for all the support, thanks for all the messages and we hope we see you.”

In the meantime, Nortje, known for his dirty pace and trouble trouble, has had a short but impressive IPL race since his debut in Delhi Capitals in 2020. The South Pealer -African has played 46 games, with 60 doctors with a solid strike rate of 17.5.
However, the Proteas Pacer returned to the competitive cricket for the first time since December last year. His recent injury mishap, including a feet injury that ruled him out of the South series -Africa against Pakistan, have delayed his comeback, but he is eager to act again.
Kolkata Knight Riders, under the lead coach Chandrakant Pandit, assistant coach Otis Gibson and mentor Dwayne Bravo, would like to defend their IPL title this season. Above all, they have won the IPL title three times (2012, 2014, 2024) and ended as a runner -up in 2021.
