If you are a fan of firearms shooting, then you probably spend a lot of time screaming on your TV because your favorite characters on screen do a terrible job of exploding their enemies. This is usually the actor’s fault … Like, what else would you expect to happen when someone who has never fired a gun is suddenly given to a prop and is told to become nuts? However, Battlestar Galactica ‘S Nicki Clyne (who played Cally) is the exception to the rule: She told Starll that she is the Premiere Season 2 “scattered,” actually scrubbed by the director for firing his gun too well!

Nicki Clyne vs Cylons

Now, if you know a lot about Battlestar GalacticaYou know that Cally character does not spend much time fighting against the iconic robot enemies of the show directly. That’s because she’s a deckhand who, like Coworker and the ultimate husband of the husband, specializes in keeping the ship’s springs in the air and is fully functional for Galactica pilots. Nevertheless, Cally was part of a firefighter “scattered,” and Nicki Clyne trained for this moment so hard that she started firing in the cyons, the director said “You shoot those weapons also Well ”because“ Cally hasn’t fired a weapon since basic training! “

If you haven’t seen “scattered”, here’s some context: In this chapter, some of our characters explore Kobol, a kind of legendary planet that is supposed to be the original birthplace of humanity. Some are temporarily stuck on this planet while Galactica plays a desperate game of cat and mouse with Cylon Basestar, and most of the action of this chapter occurs aboard the main ship and viper viper of the various pilots. But there is still plenty of action on the planet, as Cally discovers when bloody bots attack its survey team and must provide a cover to the main Tyrol.

Understandably, Nicki Clyne wanted to have her big action scene against the cylones rightly, and that meant training: as she put it, “I focused on doing it right, because the experts showed me weapons how to aim and ignite the guns.” This is what led to director Michael Rymer in her casting for “Shooting the Weapons also Well ”because he would be out of character for Deckhand who didn’t see fighting he was so good at him. The actor complied, but also had a “defense” against the director’s criticism: “I counted, ‘hey, if I. Can learn to shoot a gun that is fast, then can cally for sure. ‘”

While Nicki Clyne’s comment could be a little tongue in the cheek, she had a point about the first real firefighter of her character with the colors. A big theme of Battlestar Galactica is that our heroes are on their backfeet most of the time and have to learn new skills on the fly to avoid their non -electorate. Cally may not look just like a cracked shot, but based on how she adapts to some of the plays she suffers later in the show (including her husband turning out to be a secret gylon!), It’s absolutely reasonable to think she would be a quick study with firing firearms.

We loved hearing about how Nicki Clyne was a little also Well for shooting colors, but there is just one problem: we are now captured with the urge to re -watch the Battlestar Galactica Reboot again for what the millionth must be. The alternative, of course, is to look at some of the slope passing for Modern Sci-Fi TV at various stream Services. And we’d rather be cally simply shoot us down like just another cylon before we settle for a slope.
