India’s fast diaper Jasprit Bumrah was the biggest positive for his team at the border-Gavaskar 2024-25. Bumrah was in all the Australian baptismers in the series and also appeared as the best bowling between the two sides.
During the series, Jasprit Bumrah worried almost all opposition batters. Australian’s young feeling of Battle Nathan McSweeney was no different, as he had a difficult time against the best ballist in the world.
Interpreting his debut series, McSweney was unfortunate to face a Bumrah class bowl with the new ball and almost did not have the opportunity to set at the level of test. Bumrah was all McSweeney, which forced selectors to leave him for the last two tests.
During a podcast at Willowtalk, Nathan McSweeney was asked about his experience of confronting Jasprit Bumrah during the border-Gavaskar trophy. The workshop admitted that Bumrah is an incredible diaper while throwing the ball in uncomfortable areas for a batter.
“Yes, hard work is probably an underestimation. It is an incredible diaper. It was probably naive to enter it, I never faced it before and (thinking) it will be fine. But it is an incredible diaper that has a great skill, but only a relentless ability to throw the ball in the area where he does not want to be a batter,” said McSweney.
Nathan McSweeney had just interpreted his debut test series, but Jasprit Bumrah did not give him any chance of gaining any confidence. Bumrah picked up the McSweeney wick four five times during the first three tests.
He recorded scores of 10, 0, 39, 10*, 9 and 4, as Bumrah was above the series. He constantly beat the bat with impeccable lines and lengths and had the batter in the sea just like the other Australian batters.
The workshop also admitted that all Australian batters had a difficult time in front of Bumrah and this gave him a kind of confidence that he is not the only one who is bothered by Ace India Pacer.
“Therefore, it was a very tough challenge, but it also hoped that no one would be very successful against him and everyone tried to face it at the same time and nobody played it easily, which gave me some confidence.” Said McSweeney.
Nathan McSweney scored 72 runs in the three tests he played during the series with an average of only 14.40. After some restless moments in the fold, he dropped for two final tests in Melbourne and Sydney, where Sam Konstas replaced him.
Jasprit Bumrah collected 32 doctors in five tests during the series with an incredible average of 13.06. It also appeared as the maximum wick of the series on both teams. Bumrah was relentless in his bowling and he had all the bats on the floor.
However, unfortunately he was injured in the final test in Sydney, which made it difficult for India to draw the game later. Under Bumrah’s captaincy, India won the first test of the A Perth series and was also awarded the game player to collect eight doctors in the game.
