Pakistan’s legendary spinner, Mushtaq Ahmed updates were confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which is believed to be satisfied with his role.
Mushtaq Ahmed was with Bangladesh’s men’s cricket team as a spin bowling coach for 2025 Champions Trophy. The BCB aimed to use all his experience in Pakistani conditions and to help Bangladesh make plans for the tournament.
However, Bangladesh crashed against the tournament after suffering from India and New Zealand. They finished third in the group behind India and New Zealand and, therefore, could not qualify for the semifinals.

According to Cricbuzz, a BCB official stated that Mushtaq Ahmed will work as a Spin bowling consultant for the Council and will also work on the preparation of young spinners alongside working with the national side.
“He (Mushtaq) will act as a Council’s Spin consultant and will not only work with the national team, but also want to have his service in other areas to prepare our spinners such as the high performance unit and other programs,” confirmed the BCB official.
The official also mentioned that Mushtaq will work for 130 days a year with a different capacity with the BCB. Both Mushtaq and the BCB will sign the agreement shortly after some minor adjustments are resolved.
Mushtaq Ahmed joined the Bangladesh Cricket team as a Spin bowling consultant ahead of the T20 2024 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA and remained until the end of the tournament.
Bangladesh crashed out of the Super Eight phase tournament and could not qualify for the semifinals. After the tournament, he left the team for personal reasons, but returned to the series of tests at home against South -Africa last year.
After retiring as a player, Mushtaq has played the role of Spin bowling coach with England from 2008 to 2014. He has also occupied the same position with the West Indies and Pakistan from 2018 to 2022. He has also been Pakistan bowling consultant from 2014 to 2016.
Mushtaq has an excellent record as a player when he used to play Pakistan. He was known for his misleading Googlies, which made him an asset in half. It was a regular part of the Pakistan bowling line of the 1990’s.
The 54 -year -old played 52 tests in his career and picked up 185 doctors with an average of 32.97 with 10 transports of five wicket. The Legspinner also played 144 hatred and collected 161 doctors with an average of 33.29 and a 4.26 economy rate.
He was also part of the Pakistan 1992 World Cup winning team. It is the only 50 -year -old World Cup won by Pakistan to date. After retiring as a player, he has constantly been part of various training settings worldwide.
