The ex -Manchester United Director Sir Alex Ferguson was again on the winner on Thursday, as the Caldwell Potter Horse won the Jack Richards Handicap Handicap Novices, as Paul Nicholls won his 50th winner at the Cheltenham festival.
Running in the colors of the late John Hales, Caldwell Potter led from the outside, surpassing Ken Budds in 125-1, with another Foraster, O’Moore Park again in third place.

Ferguson, 83, said, “You can’t buy as I feel now, it’s great.
“The difference in football is if you buy an expensive player, you have a long time to value them, make the type of player you need and what will be adapted to your team and have the character; you cannot do it with a horse, you cannot look at his character, so it is a play.
“With a footballer, it is a long-term thing, they can start at the age of 17 and play up to 41, like Ryan Giggs, while with a horse, when they reach 10, 11, 12, begin to ask how long they will last.
“No matter how hard this horse lasts, he has done something today we are so proud.”
Rachael Blackmore won a double inspired by Victories on the right to Ryanair’s “Novice” Mares, and then Bob Olinger in Stayers’ hindrance.

The six-year-old right began as a 16-1 opportunity for newbies and after a false start, he pushed the hill to achieve a long half victory.
Blackmore, setting up his 17th festival winner, said: “It’s an incredible feeling. I read an interview with JP Mcmanus when he said some people are born fortunate than others and, of course, I feel that I was born fortunate to go here.
“I have been lucky with the horses I have to ride and this mare is another. He traveled through the race and jumped well and headed in front of the right time.”
Having to wait until the festival’s three for a winner, Blackmore said, “We can’t miss the faith, we’re just half a week. We’ve been a little spoiled in recent years, since every Tuesday I went home with a winner under the belt. It wasn’t the case this year, but I’m really grateful to get a today.”
However, he did not have much time to wait, as Bob Olinger won last year’s winner, Teahupoo, in an exciting battle of obstacles.
“I am fortunate to be on this horse. It’s bright. He has so much speed and could use it, “he said.
Film was daring to win the Chase Ryanair as the 6-4 favorite for nine for nine lengths ahead of Heart Wood.
And Jagwar was another of the favorites to deliver, winning the Tronatrader Plate Handicap Chase.
