Uganda sent special forces to the capital of South Sudan, Juba, to help President Salva Kieir “secure him,” said Uganda’s military chief General Muhuzi Kaineruga.
This step comes when the tension grows between Kiram and his deputy ripper, causing concerns that their delicate peaceful transaction can collapse and the conflict can recover.
Gen. Cainerugab did not give reasons to accommodate the neighboring state, but said any step against Kira “is a declaration of war against Uganda.”
“We will defend the whole territory of South Sudan, as it was ours,” He added to the social media platform X.
The South Sudan government has not yet commented on the deployment.
The concern of the safety situation in South Sudan arises, and the United States on Saturday ordered the evacuation of all its non -country employees.
Last week, the deputy chief of the army and two ministers – all allies of Machara – were arrested by the security forces, which the representative of the opposition called a “serious violation” of the peace deal.
One of the ministers has since been released.
The arrests followed the contractions in the state of the Upper Nile between the government and the militia known as the White Army.
He fought with Machar during a civil war, which began in 2013 after the struggle for power between him and Kira.
This led to heavy fighting in Jube, and Cyrus accused Murne of the coup designs.
Machar refused the allegation, but South Sudan plunged into a civil war of more than 400,000 people.
The 2018 distribution agreement stopped fights, but the key elements of the transaction were not implemented-including the new constitution, elections and reunification of armed groups into a single army.
