Nadya suleman reflects on the controversial acts he did days after welcoming eight babies.
In the episode Monday, March 10, from Lifetime’s Octomome ConfessionsSuleman, 49, looked back at her decision to sit down with NBC news journalist Ann Curry for her first -down interview.
“(The hospital) Let me choose which interviewer so I chose (for) a news anchor and I didn’t know who she was. I never watched anything he did, ”said Suleman. “So I chose Ann Curry. She was one of the only girls. I thought I’d feel comfortable talking to a woman. “
While sitting down with Curry, 68, for Interview that would fly on Today and Decomposition In 2009, Suleman said she was stressed for various reasons including the way she looked.
“I felt horrific about myself,” he said. “I won 150 lbs during the whole pregnancy so at that point, I was still about 100 pounds heavier than usual. … I had no idea what she was going to ask me. I had never done an interview before. “
As re -held in Octomome ConfessionsCurry asked questions that many Americans wanted to answer at the time. The journalist once asked Suleman to respond to people who thought it was “irresponsible and selfish” for having so many children. (Before welcoming Octuplesets, Suleman was already the mother of six children.)
“I was foggy in my head. I wasn’t very clear. I was also torn open and I was on Vicodin for pain, ”explained Suleman to lifetime cameras. “Can you imagine being questioned and questioned while you’ve just given birth, all those hormones? You’re very low. You are in a state of shock. I wasn’t there. “
Suleman went on to claim that it was a “survival mode” and was not prepared to take accountability for her actions.
“I felt under attack. I was under attack, ”he said. “When a human being is psychologically attacked, they are not in the mind to be transparent or honest. They’re going to protect themselves and I used every coping mechanism. “
According to Sulman, who went on to appear on the Today Show again for another talk with Curry in 2011, the hospital where she led to set up an interview to “set the record straight” for her journey. But for the Orange County, California, a resident, she wanted to go home and see her children.
“It’s unclear to me,” he said of the interview. “I don’t even remember. I know I am constantly defending. “
