The Premier League watched four games on Saturday ahead of the two night games.
Nottingham Forest made a great step towards the Champions League football, surpassing Manchester City in front of a packed city field.
A second strike from Callum Hudson-Odoi was enough to collect the three points and lift the tricky trees to third place, above their opponents and with a five-point buffer in Chelsea in fifth place.
At Anfield, Liverpool moved 16 points to the top of the table, from behind to beat Southampton.
Smallbone took advantage of a defensive combination between Alisson and Virgil Van Dijk to give the Saints a shock lead before half the time.
But the Reds came out in the second half and a double fast fire between Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, but their side at home.
Salah then took his second from the late penalty point, scoring his 27th goal of the campaign and sealed the victory.

Brighton won a 2-1 dramatic victory over Fulham at the Amex stadium, with the sentence of Joao Pedro who showed the decisive moment.
The visitors took the lead in the first half through Raul Jiménez, who ended after a brilliant and cross -race of Alex Iwobi.
However, Fulham’s advantage was short, as Brighton responded a few minutes later.
Yasin Ayari handed a free intervention to La Caixa, allowing Jan Paul Van Hecke to direct his first goal to the club and level the score at 1-1.
Brighton dominated the second half, relentlessly pushing for a winner. They created several possibilities, including -a dismissed goal for Simon Adintra after a VAR review on the outside, and saw Danny Welbeck a head of head free of a cross by Joao Pedro.
When the game entered the time of stoppage, Brighton’s persistence paid off. Substitute Harrison Reed failed Pedro inside the penalty area in the last moments, leaving the referee without hesitation in pointing out the place.
Pedro increased and confidently sent his penalty ahead of Bernd Leno, reaching the three points for the seagulls with almost the last kick of the game.

Crystal Palace won its third consecutive victory in the Premier League with a hard victory 1-0 over Ipswich in Selhurst Park.
Ismaila Sarl’s late strike demonstrated the difference in an entertaining confrontation that saw many possibilities at both ends.
The first half was an animated adventure, with both parties threatening to break the deadline. The Palace should have advanced in two minutes when the precise pass of Adam Wharton put Eddie Nketiah on the goal, but the goalkeeper of Ipswich, Josh Palmer, saved excellent.
Ipswich responded immediately as Jaden Philogene forced Dean Henderson to a strong stop.
The end -to -end action continued when Ebechi Eze approached, only to be denied by an excellent block by Jacob Greaves.
Visitors had more opportunities, with Liam Delap and Philogene approaching, but neither party could find the network before half the time.
The second half began with an almost Mass of the Eze, whose diverting shot reached the stick.
Ipswich then created several possibilities, with Delap and Philogene again try Henderson. At the other end, Sarr and Matheus Munoz forced Palmer to save impressive, as Palace pushed for the advance.
The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute. Wharton found Daichi Kamada on the shore of the box, and after diverting from Kalvin Phillips, the ball kindly fell to Sarr, which produced a delicious chip on Palmer to give it leadership to the palace.
This result moves the palace to eleventh place, after winning nine of its last 11 games in all competitions.
In the meantime, the Ipswich struggles continue, as they remain without winning the league in 2025 and stay in 18th place, five points in security.
