More than 300,000 properties have no strength, as tropical thunderstorms are closer to the east coast of Australia, throwing the region with heavy rain.
Alfred’s storm was reduced from the cyclone to a tropical minimum, but the local authorities warned that the threat it represents “did not end.”
The violent winds have already shot down trees and power lines, and the roads flooded in lowland areas when the thunderstorm approaches the conclusion. Alfred’s forecast hit the coast near Brisbane before moving on Saturday.
Tens of thousands of people said to evacuate from the way of a thunderstorm, while others urged to stay indoors.
Four million people across Queensland and the North New Southern Wales are in the firing line of the storm, with dozens of weather warnings in place in both areas.
Emergency services say they work with energy companies after some residents were told that they may be without power all day.
According to Energy Energy supplier, about 287,000 customers are experiencing shutdowns in the southeastern quenches, while Essential Energy said more than 42,600 houses and businesses in South Wels have survived the shutdown.
People in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, went to bed on Friday, covering heavy wind and heavy rain.
They woke up on Saturday to find out that the cyclone was lowered and the city would avoid the worst weather.
But the danger did not end in other parts of the southeastern Queensland and the North New South Wales.
Prime Minister Anthony Albonez stated that “the worst is still ahead” and along the gold coast, which in the last few days was launched by bad weather, the conditions are still quite extreme.
There is rain and heavy wind. Down there are power lines, hundreds of trees exploded in gardens, parks and main roads. There is a lot of debris and emergency services that are divided into areas most at risk.
“This emergency is not over,” said Prime Minister of the new South Wales Chris Mins, adding that “important” is important that the public does not “denied” the thunderstorm.
“It really doesn’t matter whether it was reduced from the tropical cyclone to the weather,” he said.
The Commander of the State Emergency Situations, Stewart Fisher, warned people not “outdated” and stated that the authorities in the region expect the floods to continue over the next few days.
As the thunderstorm approached the conclusion, nearly 1000 schools closed, public transport was suspended and airports closed. Electoral operations were also canceled.
The flights are expected not to recover until Sunday as soon as possible.
BBC talked to a few people from the homeless communities Brisbane have Made a shelter in the Emmanuel MissionWhich became a round shelter.
In the recreation park on the island of treasures on the gold coast, north of Paradise Surfer, the gum tree descended between the two cabins, damaging the third. Next to the boat was half immersed in one of the channels in the quarter from the beach.
On the coast itself, many ways down to the beach are now impenetrable. Instead, there is a sudden drop into the ocean where powerful waves were eaten on the sand.
But the cleaning operation will not take place for several days-winds is still powerful and there is rain.
Residents are starting to take a chance to look at the detriment, but much remain indoors to keep themselves safe.
