Spell Tory remembers distressingly holidays event from 1992.
β19 and ride in The Hollywood ChristmasπParade with my teenage dream on and off camera @brianaustingreen,β Spelling, 51, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 14, sharing a throwback photo with Green, 51. βI’d grown up watching this event on TV and I was super excited that Donna + David got asked to ride on an antique car through the parade.”
He added, βIt was in 1992 and (Beverly Hills,) 90210 was at its peak. It was a great ride until I got shot with a BB gun. You didn’t see that one coming, did you?”
According to Sillafu, she suddenly felt a “sharp pain” running through her leg.
“I remember waving to the crowds as our car moved through the parade and suddenly feeling hot and sharp pain on my leg,β Spelling recalled. “I spoke to Bri, ‘Omg I’ve been shot!’ He replied in our usual banter, (he said,) ‘You’re being dramatic.’ Fair, he knew me well. I had a flare for drama.”
Throughout the rest of the parade, Spelling “disguised it as (his) overactive imagination” and resumed waving at the attendees.
“After the parade, I immediately checked my jeans and sure enough there was a burn hole on the top of my Levi’s thigh,” he added. β Needless to say, it took decades for me to be able to ride in another parade. But, I still love the tradition of watching it annually on TV with my children.”
Spelling and Green shot to fame playing Donna Martin and David Silver, respectively, for 10 seasons later Beverly Hills, 90210. Not only were the characters cast as love interests, but Spelling and Green also became an item in real life.
βI remember our last conversation and the last thing we said to each other before those 18 years. I was crying,β Spelling previously said during an August episode Green’s βOldishβ Podcast with her brother, Randy. βI remember crying that we were going to lose touch because we were so close. It was almost like going through a divorce or something.”
Green, however, was adamant that he and Spelling could keep in touch.
“What I remember is passing (your then boyfriend and our costar) Vincent (young)house to see you several days after we wrapped and tried to keep contact going,β Green recalled. βBut it got to the point where I never got that from you. And then I remember being in the 90210 DVD release party and you were married Dean (McDermott) and I was with Megan (Fox) when we were still smiling – you got there and you never said hello to me once. I kept missing you, and then you were gone.”
He added, “It was just like this, ‘She doesn’t want to be my friend.’ I really felt that way. I tried to visit you and I will call you. When that didn’t happen again and so I gave up. I didn’t know what was going on in your life.”
Green and Spelling eventually reconnected after their respective divorces from Fox, 38, and McDermott, 58. In fact, Green was the one who convinced Spelling to sign on Dancing With The Stars season 33 this fall.
βI was like, ‘What are you thinking? Should I do it?’β Spelling just say Us Weekly in September. “And he’s like, ‘Absolutely.’ He’s like my best friend.”
Spelling, however, was delete the first star.
