Barcelona – Chinese Huawei is not the only manufacturer of smartphones that adds a third display to its devices.
A number of firms showed its technological innovation at Barcelona’s mobile World Congress (MWC).
South Korean technological gigan Samsung The event revealed their new “trifol” concept: The Flex G and Flex S.
The Flex G has three screens and folds flat inside and outwards, a little similar to the book. On the other hand, Flex S has a more zigzag form. This is designed to resemble “s” – hence the name.
Flex S – another concept – the device that Samsung showed on MWC. It develops more zigzag to make the form “S”.

It goes after the Chinese technological giant Last month Huawei launched his new Mate XT, 3.499 euros ($ 3 678.56) smartphone with three screens in international markets.
Samsung emphasized that its Flex G and S models were just conceptual devices – so don’t expect them to be found on the shelves soon.
However, this is a sign where smartphone manufacturers see the next wave of innovation.
In recent years, the smartphone market has reached something plateau, and many models have not departed from the standard bar form form.
Apple set the tone as the devices will look like in our pockets when it launched the first iPhone in 2008. But smartphone manufacturers are now trying to pull the market out of this so -called “sea relativity”.
On Tuesday, British consumer technology is nothing launched your new phone (3a)A budget model 329-Euro ($ 356,28) with a sophisticated design and LED lighting that lights up when you get calls or notifications.
Nothing co-founded Akis Evangelidis-Yaki plans to move to India because it plans to start a startup in the country that CNBC is trying to shake the smartphone market with something more fun and unique.
Using the Indian market as an example, Evangelidis said: “People depart from pure functional needs when it comes to the product. They strive for brands that have more emotional benefit, and I think that’s there.”
However, despite the fact that smartphone manufacturers are aggressively working on the release of new complex devices, the category remains a relatively niche market zone.
In addition, sophisticated phones can represent a large jump for ordinary consumer.
For the first they are usually saturated than without collecting phones because of the extra screen. And they are also not cheap. According to the market for market research, the average price of sophisticated phones is almost three times higher than in the usual smartphone-approximate $ 1218 against $ 421 per trouble for phones.
While the difficult market of phones increased by 6.4% compared to last year to 19.3 million units, the category “accounts for only 1.6% of the total worldwide supply”, according to Francis Geranim, Vice President EMEA for devices to IDC.
However, this year at MWC phone companies showed that they are getting better to develop complex phones that can better satisfy daily users.
For example, this week, OPPO has shown its new Find N5 device. It has only two screens, but it is much thinner than competing complex phones such as Galaxy Fold 6.
Currently, Samsung is holding a lead position in the Global Complobles segment. In 2024, he ordered 32.9% of the market share. Huawei was behind, with 23.1%, while Motorola was the third largest phones with a 17% market share.
And despite the successful prices, these companies are betting that consumers will be ready to pay for more premium experience.
