Daryl Hall refuses to reunite Oates Hall for ever with fellow -fand John Oates

Daryl hall closes the door on the possibility of reuniting with Bandmate Hall & Oates John Oates.

“That ship has gone to the bottom of the ocean,” Hall, 78, told The Times In an interview posted on Friday, February 28.

Hall was given Order withholding Against his former creative partner in 2023, preventing Oates, 76, from selling his share of the band’s unauthorized publishing rights (allegedly sales are contrary to terms Hall & Oates Business Contract). In his new interview, Hall said of his split from Oates: “I’ve had many surprises in my life, disappointments, betrayal, so I’m used to it.”

“The songs with his leading vocal are the songs he wrote, and all the others, which are about 90 per cent, are the ones I wrote,” Hall claimed.

Hall has moved on to another musical partnership with former Eurythmics fore Dave Stewartwho produced album 2024 Hall T. The two have worked together intermittently over the past 40 years, including a single innovative in 1986 Hall 1986 Three hearts in the happy finishing machine.

“It’s more meaningful, a real cooperative relationship – and it’s based on maturity,” said Hall for working with Stewart.

In December 2023, Oates seemed more hopeful for an ultimate reunion with Hall, saying Entertainment weekly he has “Never say ever” to work together again.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but … right now, I’ve focused on where I am in life and lead the best life I can and move on,” said Oates.

Oates later defended his business decision to share from Hall in a May 2024 segment Good morning America host Michael Strahanwhere he insisted he had not betrayed his former musical colleague.

“When all this situation was crushed in legality and very complex legal wrinkling, I was frustrated,” he said. “And I said, ‘You know what? Daryl has always wanted to be a man himself. ‘I said,’ I’m going to give him the opportunity to do that. If I sell my half, it can either, you know, can do what he wants. ‘”

Oates went on: “It was Kinda ruining my life, and being honest with you … I wasn’t happy. And I said, ‘Well, I’ll step aside,’ people do it all the time. That is, you look at all the artists who sell all their catalogs … it’s pretty common … it’s not that big. But Daryl did not like the idea that I would sell to a particular third party. “

Hall has performed many of the group’s classic songs during his own recent solo tour, including playing their hit number 1 in 1977 “Rich Girl,” “Private Eyes” and “You Make My Dreams,” among others, during his show at Borgata’s Events Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey in December 2024.

The singer-songwriter is expected to go back out to the road for a 2025 tour which begins March 22 in Houston, Texas at the Arena Theater, but Oates leads at Ventura’s prestigious theater in Ventura, California on March 13.
