Barcelona – Huawei lowers his toes to the international smartphone market, but analysts warn that the protracted consequences of the US sanctions may interfere with the Chinese company’s ability to compete with leaders Apple and Samsung.
Over the past few months, Huawei has launched two key devices outside China. The first in December was Mate X6, a complex smartphone, and behind it Mate xt3.499 euro Huawei ($ 3660).
Huawei wanted to stand out from the crowd of similar smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the world’s largest telecommunications exhibition. The Chinese firm had a great position, demonstrating its products, including Mate XT.
These expensive devices and the presence of Huawei on the global technological show, emphasize the target approach of the technological giant, trying to preserve the image of the brand as an innovative company, selling high -end smartphones.
“Huawei is still very cautious and conservative with what can reach China with his smartphone,” said Runar Bjørhovde, CANALY CNBC analyst.
“The adoption of Mate XT and X6 abroad is not a sign that in the coming years it will make an international return with its smartphone. Both of them are evaluated exclusively and instead preserved the desired perception of the brand with smartphones and still sell devices to their most prosperous super funds.”

While Huawei has abandoned some brilliant aspects of its attendance, its stand remains very large as it shows other parts of its business, in particular its telecommunications equipment that helped turn it into one of the world’s largest technology companies.
In the consumer space, Huawei maintained a certain presence outside China with devices such as SmartWatches, but its smartphone business remains very limited. The firm uses the MWC 2025 to show Mate XT, the first of its kind device with a screen consisting twice.
However, its success in China is unlikely to be repeated with the biggest problem – lack of Huawei access to Android Google software, analysts said.
“I do not think they will be able to return to international markets without full Google services,” said CNBC Francis Jerim, Vice President according to the data and analytics in the international data corporation.

Google’s Android operating system is 80% of the world smartphones, according to the ControfPoint study. Outside China, Android Device users are counting on the Google Play store, which is Google app store, as well as various Chrome browser applications to Gmail.
While in Huawei is it Own operating system called HarmonyosIt still does not have the ability to offer Google Apps that most users are counting on.
“Business expansion with smartphones outside China will be a huge problem,” Bjørhovde canalys said.
“Not only because Harmony has virtually no active users outside China, limiting users’ feedback and the availability of applications, but also because it needs the right portfolio of devices, operating team, marketing resources, etc. It will take years, even with great success in other categories of devices.”
