Seppter and Michel Platini returned to the Swiss Court on FIFA fraud case

Former FIFA President Blatter and French football legend Michel Platini have returned to Switzerland to face fraud.

In 2022, the couple was justified in the trial for paying 2 million Swiss francs (£ 1.6 million) made by dam and Blatter Commissioner in 2011.

Both men denied violations and stated that the transfer was belated to pay for the Platini Advisory work, which previously ruled the UEFA European Football Management.

But the Swiss federal prosecutor addressed this decision. It is expected that the new lawsuit will last by Thursday, with the payout paid on March 25.

On Monday, the couple appeared before the Appeal Court in Mutten, near Basel. 88 -year -old Blatter confirmed that he was innocent.

“When you talk about lies, lies and cheating, it’s not me. It wasn’t in my life,” he said in court.

Platini’s lawyer, 69, said the lower court, which justified the couple in 2022, had the right to find out that the controversial payment of 2 million francs was legal. “

Platini had a glorious gaming career and is a three -time Ballon d’Or winner – the highest individual football prize in Europe.

He is the captain of France to win the European Championship in 1984 and won the European Cup 1985 with Juventus. He continued to train the French national team and became UEFA president in 2007.

In 2015, the prosecutor’s office accused the pair of cheating on the FIFA of payments made.

In his testimony, Blatter said at the first trial that he asked Platini to work as his advisor in 1998. He added that at the time FIFA could not afford an annual fee for 1 m of Swiss franc requested the dam.

Instead, they stopped on partial payment, and the payment of the payment balance is paid for a later date. Platini said during the trial: “I trusted the president and knew he would pay me one day.”

He stopped working in FIFA in 2002, but initially did not pursue the payment because he told the court that at the time did not need the money, and – according to Blatter – FIFA was “broken”. However, in January 2011, Platini thought he was able to send an account -factory and the money was paid after Blatter approved.

After the investigation, launched in 2015, Swiss prosecutors accused Blatter and paying for fake and fraud.

Also in 2015, the FIFA rejected both men from football for ethics – initially over eight years, although their exceptions were later reduced.

In 2022, the Federal Criminal Court of Switzerland in Belinzon cleaned two after the account “Payment Agreement”.

The Swiss businessman and sports administrator Blatter joined the FIFA in 1975, became Secretary General in 1981, and later president of the world football body in 1998.

He remained in the role of 17 years until he refused the corruption investigation. Later, Platini withdrew his own candidacy for the president.
