Several Arab states and the UN have convicted Israel for blocking all humanitarian aid into the gas lane.
Egypt and Qatar said the Israeli step on Sunday violated the ceasefire agreement, while the head of the Humanitarian in the UN Tom Fletcher called it “anxious.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country acted because Hamas stole deliveries and used them “to finance his terrorist machine.”
He also accused the Palestinian group of deflection of US proposal to expand fire in Gaza after ending on Saturday. Israel said he approved the proposal.
The Hamas press -secretary said the Israel’s blockade was “cheap blackmail” and “coup” against the ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire transaction stopped 15 months of fighting between Hamas and the Israeli military, which allowed to release 33 Israeli hostages for about 1900 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar said that “strongly condemned” the Israeli decision, calling it “a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement” and “international humanitarian law”.
In Egypt, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accused Israel of using hunger as a “weapon against the Palestinian people,” AFP reports.
Both Qatar and Egypt helped to mediate the ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia expressed its “condemnation and denunciation” of Israeli aid, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Tom Fletcher, the UN, who is under the peasant general on humanitarian affairs, wrote in a report on X: “International Humanitarian Law is clear: we need to allow access to vital rescue assistance.”
Netanyahu said that Israel decided to act, “because Hamas steals materials and prevented the people from Gaza get them.
“It uses these materials to finance its terrorist machine, which is directly directed to Israel and our civilians, and we cannot accept it.”
Earlier, Hamas denied the theft of humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Netanyahu also stated that Hamas refuses to accept the temporary expansion of the ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump’s President Steve Witco.
The first stage of ceasefire came into force on January 19 and ended at midnight on Saturday.
Negotiations in the second stage, which meant to lead to a permanent ceasefire, the release of all other living hostages and the abolition of Israeli Gazae forces had to start a few weeks ago – but barely started.
It is believed that there are 24 hostages, another 39, allegedly died.
The third stage is intended for the return of all other dead hostages and the reconstruction of the gas, which is expected to take years.
Earlier, Hamas said he would disagree with any expansion of the first stage without the guarantees of the mediators, which will eventually take place the second phase.
As the first phase of the transaction ended on Saturday, the Netanyahu’s office said Israel agreed with Vitco’s proposal to cease the fire about six weeks during the Muslim Holy Moon Ramadan and the Jewish Easter periods.
If at the end of this period the negotiations reached a dead end, Israel reserved the right to return to the war.
Witcoof did not make his proposal public. According to Israel, it will begin with the exit of half of all the other living and dead hostages.
Israel is said to be a temporary expansion after making sure it took more time to try to overcome the differences between Israel and Hamas on the conditions of the war.
The help agencies confirmed that on Sunday morning, gas trucks were not allowed.
“Humanitarian aid should continue to go into gas. It is very important. And we urge all parties to make sure that they will reach a solution,” said Antoine Renard of the BBC World Food Program.
Thousands of trucks entered the gas lane every week because the ceasefire was agreed in mid -January.
The assistance agencies managed to maintain deliveries, which means that there is no direct danger for the civilian population.
Also on Sunday, doctors said four people were killed in Israeli. The Israeli military said they attacked the people who planted an explosive device in the north.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas made an unprecedented attack on Israel, killed about 1,200 people and took another 251 hostage.
Israel responded to the air and terrestrial campaign in the Gaza Strip, which killed at least 48 365 people, the Ministry of Health reports.
