US President Donald Trump revealed the names of five cryptocurrencies that he would like to be included in a new strategic reserve to make the US the “capital of the world.”
Market prices for five coins he called – Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and Cardano – all quickly jumped after the announcement.
During Trump’s presidential campaign, he aggressively entered the cry. The previous US president, Joe Biden, controlled the repression of the crystorm with the concern of fraud and money laundering.
It is unclear how the new stock will work. More information is expected on Friday, when Trump plans to accept the first crypto -salt in the White House.
A report on social media on Sunday said he had signed an order that “ordered the presidential working group to move forward on the crypto -strategic reserve, which includes XRP, Sol and ADA.”
In about an hour he added in another message: “And obviously BTC and ETH, like other valuable cryptocurrencies, will be at the center of the reserve.”
The first three coins he called on Sunday jumped up to 62%.
Bitcoin and Ethereum also jumped by more than 10% each.
The messages noted the new turning up over the crystals, which fell sharply after its election.
Shortly after his post in January, Trump signed the head to create a presidential working group that instructed to propose new laws and rules of the cry.
The order called for the group “evaluate the potential creation and maintenance of the National Digital Assets”, which can use “cryptocurrencies, legally confiscated by the federal government due to the efforts of law enforcement agencies.”
It is unclear whether the creation of a new national strategic stock requires.
Earlier, Trump was a critic of Krypto, telling Fox News in 2021 that Bitcoin is a “scam”.
