D -R Congo accuses Rwand of fake fighters associated with genocide

The Army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has accused Rwand of dressing the prisoners in military uniform, seeking to transfer them as newly minted rebels related to Rwanda genocide.

It comes after the M23 rebels who support Rwanda, in the east of Dr. Congo, said they had captured the Rwanda Democratic Forces (FDLR), a police founded in the 1994 genocide against Tutsis Rwanda.

But Dr. Congo’s military stated that a video that allegedly showed 20 FDLR rebels at the border crossing was “false”.

M23 fighters are promoting the eastern D -Congo since January, capturing Bukov and Gom, the largest city in the region.

According to the UN.

A statement from the Congolese military said that the Rwanda video had “a fake incident with a bad taste organized by the unified goal of discrediting our army.”

It states that Rwanda took the old FDLR prisoners and put them on a new military uniform to claim that they were recently captured in a homa.

“This is part of the Rwanda strategy to justify the invasion of the DRC,” it added.

Rwanda used the presence of FDLR forces in the Eastern Congo to justify its M23 support.

Earlier, the country denied support for M23, but also emphasized that it was entitled to take hostilities in the Eastern Congo from the presence of the FDLR in the east of the Congo.

Earlier, UN experts estimate that 3,000 to 4,000 Rwanda troops are in the Eastern Congo.

Last year, UN experts also reported that the Congolese military used several armed groups, including FDLR as trusted persons in the fight against M23.

Genocide in Rwanda took place more than 100 days in 1994.

Ethnic Police Hutu, which is involved in the murder of up to 800,000 people – the vast majority of the Tutsi community – escaped to what is now a Congo doctor, some form FDLR.

Kagam, who led the power of Tutsi rebels, which ended in the murder more than three decades ago, views this “genocidal police” as an existential threat.

On Thursday, Rifle and explosions broke through the promotion The rebels are conducted in Bukov, the second largest city in the east. The video showed chaotic scenes with bodies on the streets after the crowd escaped.

M23 rebels captured Bukov from government forces last month After their rapid promotion through the region.

The rally was previously considered by Nanga Cornell, head of the insurgent group, which includes M23.

The rebels have accused the government of President Dr. Congo Felix Tshasecki of organizing the attack. However, Tshasecki accused this of the “foreign army”, which he said in the East.

The African Union and the UN called for ceasefire and to leave the areas they are now in control.
