Oscar de la Hoya says he will be physically hard at Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beeterbiev if they meet for a trilogy game between them. He says he would like to see it, but he thinks it will be hard on the two lightweight weights.
De la Hoya favors the undisputed Bivol champion (24-1, 12 kos) to defeat the 40-year-old Beterbiev (21-1, 20 kos) because Bivol has an advantage for youth, speed and movement.
Oscarscar says he was worried about seeing Bertebiev carrying two knee braces inside the ring, moving -as slowly as if it were available and did not have the ability to cut the ring. However, Bertabev was in the fight and sought to be the way for a eliminated one when he pursued Bivol around the ring of the rounds of three to seven.
De la Hoya says she would like Bivol to fight her mandatory WBC David Benavidez, because this would show bravery on her part. However, he considers that Benavidez (30-0, 24 kos) beat Bivol due to his high punch outlet, the IQ and the ability to cut the ring.
The whole movement Bivol used to defeat Beterbiev would not work against Benavidez. He would chase him and cut him. Bivol’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, does not seem to be interested in Benavidez for him. Unless you change your mind, we will probably see Bivol again fighting Beterbiev or Callum Smith.
“I think Benavidez is quite interesting. I think this is a hell of struggle. If he is willing to be brave, if he is willing to fight against Benavidez, this would solidify the Bivol’s fame career, he surely showed the world that he is the best in 175. This is a hell of struggle. This would be a route to do. I would go with Benavidez.” Said Oscar from La Hoya to Fight Hub TV When asked who wins between Dmitry Bivol and David Benavidez.
“He is smarter there, he knows how to think and know how to adjust -he would favor Benavidez (about Bivol). He throws more punches, he is more active and has a better job than Beterbiev. “
Benavidez would be a bad style for the Bivol, 34, because he does not like to hit himself, and he does not stay in his pocket enough to hurt. We saw what made a tired Beterbiev in Bivol in the twelfth round of its resale Saturday night of February 22, when suddenly the gas gas increased for the first time in the fight. He had bleeding and abused bivol in this round. Separated from Beterbiev’s pressure. If Bivol struggled in Benavidez, each round would be like that.
The possibilities of Canelo resale
“There is no way to overcome Bivol. There is no way. The styles make fights and, no matter how much I would like to see a Mexican victory inside this ring, a national hero, there is no way to beat Bivol,” said Hoya on Canelo Alvarez without having the ability to avenge his loss in Dmitry Bivol.
Bivol dominated Canelo in his fight on May 7, 2022. Bivol’s size, punch combination and resistance were too much for Canelo. Now it would be worse for the Mexican star because he spends even faster on his fights and would not have the fuel tank to compete for more than two or three rounds.
“I had Bivol from the beginning. I thought Bivol knew how to adjust and use his boxing skills and his work standing,” he said of La Hoya about Bivol’s resale with Artur Beterbiev on February 22. “Their combinations were ruthless. I simply feel you did the best job.
“Its Generalitat was better. He knew how to cut the ring better and knew how to fight better. He deserved to win (against Beterbiev). Returning to the back, this is very hard for the body, “said Hoya, when asked if Bivol should take the trilogy game with Arthur then. “This is very hard on the mind.
“I do not care at what time you fight, either in the 1950’s, 1960’s, where they fought 30 times a year or fight today. Three fights on their backs are harsh on the body. They correspond to them (Bivol and Beeterbiev). They form their decisions. Yes, I would love to see a third. Why not?
“I was very concerned with Bertebiev. I was worried from the beginning because I was wearing two knee braces. So, looking at his work, he was very rigid. He was very mechanical. He was very slow, as in Quicksand. A type of caneal inside this ring, very slow, very heavy. Therefore, this was my concern.
“Bivol began to move sideways and Bertebiev could not close the distance. He followed him too slow. That’s why Bivol had his upper hand,” he said of La Hoya.
