Rudd Van Nistelrooy was disappointed with the passive passive exhibition of Leicester, which caused a 2-0 defeat to West Ham.

The 19th located foxes headed for a relegation with a Limp screen in East London, with two “easy” goals before the break that all West Ham needed to record the victory that leaves them five points in security.

Leicester’s leader of less fire told TNT Sports: “The goals you give are easy objectives. It is a reflection of how we played in the first half.

“If you see the difference in the first and second half, as we as a team we advanced to pressure the opponent, to play urgently after winning duels, in the first half we were waiting too much.

“We need to put the rival the pressure in the right way.”

Leicester ‘too passive’

With the rivals of their Wolves relegation, Ipswich and Southampton lost this week, Leicester lost the opportunity to take advantage of and their exhibition had no urgency.

Van Nistelrooy added: “We were too passive. We are in a situation where we do not win matches and we are in a situation where we are at the lower three.

“The pressure is on. The way to get out of this is to move to the pitch as well. It does not mean that you have to press in a unique situation, but we have to take initiative.

“We cannot wait and sit. This is the situation we are in.”

Leicester has not scored in the league in four games, sending 12 goals to these outings since the 2-1 victory over Tottenham.

“If you play this way in the first half, you will not score,” said Van Nistelrooy. “We weren’t even close to scoring. In the second half we were much closer.”

As he maintains morality in his relegation struggle, the head of Foxes said: “Believing in work, in turning around, in literally moving forward, not sitting behind. This is what we need to do.”

Potter excited by West Ham potential

West Ham’s head, Graham Potter, praised the professional screen on his side and said he was excited about the potential shown by his side.

He told TNT Sports: “The first half that we were decent in our strange, we led them again, we had a good game control. It was generally a professional performance. It’s not great, but we are delighted with two wins, two clean sheets and six points.”

“We have been aware of the season, but not for so long. Enchanted by the players.

“They have been working very hard. Now they have two wins on their backs, which is not easy at the Premier League.”

“There is a lot of potential for sure. Talent is a thing. The foundations must be good. Hopefully they receive rewards because the talent is not enough in this league.

“You have to keep sheets clean, defend -you do well, do the ugly side of the game well and the players have done it and have achieved their benefits.”
