Chelsea exhibited a dominant exhibition when they won a 4-0 victory over Southampton at the Premier League Stamford Bridge.
The side of Enzo Maresca controlled the game from the beginning to the end, with the goals of Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella who sealed an emphatic victory.
The game started with Chelsea, enjoying the first spells of possession as they sought to break down Southampton’s defensive configuration.
Despite a couple of promising moments for visitors, including an effort by Paul Uuachu who was comfortably treated with Byfilip Jorgensen, it was the Blues who seemed most threatening.
The advance came in the 24th minute when the corner of Enzo Fernández was launched by Tosin Adarabiayo, finding Nkunku on the rear post. The Frenchman did not make a mistake, nodding home from a close to 1-0.
Chelsea’s attacking impulse continued, and only 12 minutes later Nkunku converted the supplier. He surpassed the midfield before slipping a perfectly weighted pass to Neto, which pushed a fierce shot in front of Aaron Ramsdale to the nearby post to double the advantage.
As half the time approached, Southampton struggled to face the fluid Chelsea attack movements. His defensive fragility was exposed more in the 43rd minute when Neto stormed a dangerous free release, which Levi Colwill encountered a head head to put Chelsea 3-0 before the break.

Southampton, who had achieved only 0.21 expected goals (XG) in the first half, looked at ideas and overflowing with the intensity of Chelsea.
Despite the comfortable advantage, Chelsea did not show signs of complacency after the restart. Nkunku, Palmer and Fernández approached the leadership in the minutes of opening the second half, but Ramsdale produced a series of excellent savings to prevent the score from becoming even more embarrassing.
Southampton’s manager, Ivan Juric, made a series of substitutions to try to inject energy next to him, introducing as Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Ryan Manning and Tyler Dibling.
However, the saints struggled to create significant possibilities, they did not record a single shot in Target in the second half.
In the meantime, Chelsea continued to dominate possession and probe for the openings. The fourth goal finally came in the 78th minute when a Southampton corner was poorly executed, allowing Chelsea against the counterattack.
Malo Gusto went down the right flank and found Tyrique George inside the box, which he threw smartly on the Cucurella. The Spanish setback showed a composition, changing the ball on his left foot before placing it in the lower corner to complete the route.
Cole Palmer, who had been influential for everything, was unfortunate not to climb the marking sheet. Ramsdale saved his free kick in the stoppage, and saved a frustrating evening in front of the goal for the young striker.
