The company announced the news during Jump Festa over the weekend. Last we left, the series was in the middle of the “Egghead” arc, and the flashy new preview shows things coming up as the Straw Hats prepare to smuggle Dr. Vegapunk off the island holder … just like the Marines show. until besieging him. The second half of the arc also moves One piece at a new time slot: Sunday evening at 11:15 PM JST.

A new era isn’t the only change coming – move on, crew great! The shipwright Franky will now be voiced by Subaru Kimura (who was previously the young Buggy) in the Japanese dub. Franky’s longtime actor Kazuki Yao announced his retired in early December, and to make the transition official, he gave Kimura a pair of Franky’s underwear on stage. In a statement, One piece creatures Eiichiro Oda thanked Yao for playing Franky “for so long! No matter where you go, you’ll always be our nakama!! And Subara-san, I’ve been waiting to have you on board!!”

Oda also commented on this year marking the anime’s 25th anniversary, and gave his “deepest gratitude to our great staff team,” and gave a shout-out to Netflix’s live-action adaptation. Interestingly, he said that 2025 will see “various projects and announcements”. One piece; The Netflix show gets a second seasonand the streamer is too remaking souls for the new ones. The franchise puts out a new movie about every three years, so could a new movie be on the horizon? Meanwhile, the current Elbaph arc of the manga sees “the arrival of a particular man”, and more encounters across the seas as “that guy begins to shake the world”.

2025 will be a “SUUUUUUUPER year of One piece,” says Oda, starting with his anime returning with “Egghead Part II” on April 6.
