David Benavidez does not rule out a victory for Terence Crawford in his potential fight against the champion of Super Media Unified Canelo Alvarez in September.
Unlike his father, Jose Benavidez SR, David remains positive. It does not seem annoying that Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) could achieve the struggle that he has been pursuing for more than five years against the Mexican superstar Canelo.

I would not blame Benavidez if he were upset because Crawford would move since 154 and get a direct title against Canelo (62-2-2, 39 kos) without ever fighting in the division.
The struggle has not yet been done, but it is believed that Turki al-Sheikh will come true. Canelo-Crawford is a struggle that Hardcore Boxing Fans want to see. Casual fans would be less interested, but they would be trapped in the drum and will follow the fan bouquet.

It’s hard to know if Benavidez is serious to believe that Crawford can win this fight. He may hide his true feelings to prevent him from resenting, he cannot handle Canelo’s passage over him in favor of an undesirable fighter.
In a recent interview, Canelo said he did not give a fight to Benavidez because he did not like the way he approached him.
