University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and his love, Maddy Barnesalready survived one of the toughest tests of a relationship: going to rival colleges.
Barnes, 21, is currently a student at the University of Oklahoma while her boyfriend, Ewers, 21, is one of the most recognizable faces in college football in Texas.
Despite the distance and intense rivalry between their two schools, Barnes and Ewers have managed to make it work since announcing their relationship in February 2023.
Both juniors at their universities, Barnes and Ewers have big decisions ahead of them – including whether or not Ewers will forgo his senior season and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, or possibly transfer to another school with a quarterly phenomenon. Ark Manning waiting in the wings in Texas.

Barnes posted the first photo of the couple via Instagram on a trip to see Ewers in Austin, Texas.
“Not too bad here ππ,” Barnes captioned a trio of pictures.
With Ewers wearing a cowboy hat and Barnes rocking white cowboy boots, the couple spent time with teammate Ewers Gunnar Helm.
Ewers posted a series of photos, including one at the beach with Barnes in Delray Beach, Florida.
“This is how we do it,” Ewers caption to the photos.
Barnes also posted a set of images from the trip, including one of the couple cozying up in front of a hotel mirror.
Barnes was on hand for the Texas Longhorns’ season opener against Rice University.

The couple took another sunny holiday together, this one to Turks and Caicos.
Barnes shares a carousel of pictures of the trip, which included one of her perch on Ewers’ shoulders while the pair stood on the beach.
Ewers and Barnes took the Big Apple in power.
“Good views and even better food!!π,” Barnes captioned a series of photos from New York City via Instagram.
Barnes made another trip to Austin to see Ewers.
“Atx for the weekendπ§‘,” he captioned a photo via Instagram of the couple standing with two friends.
In the middle of football season, Barnes visited Ewers at practice.
“Keep the weekends coming!!ππΌππΌ,” Barnes captioned a series of picturesincluding one from a Texas practice facility.
The photos were posted on October 13, the day after Ewers and the Longhorns defeated Oklahoma Sooners Barnes 34-3 in the game known as the Red River Rivalry.
In another photo, a smiling Barnes was seen standing with Ewers outside the Cotton Bowl in Dallas after the big win.
