Barcelona scored seven as both Milan clubs win

Away from the chaos of Sunday’s non-stop action in England, Europe’s top league delivered some festivities of its own.

After Real Madrid’s win on Saturday, Barcelona looked to keep pace with the La Liga leaders against Valencia.

Elsewhere, both Milan clubs were in action.

AC Milan faced Parma at the San Siro, while Inter traveled to Lecce.

Read on to see how the matches unfolded throughout the day.

Barcelona 7-1 Valencia

Barcelona beat Valencia 7-1 in a spectacular La Liga encounter. The hosts raced into the lead after just 145 seconds, with Frenkie de Jong heading home from a lovely Lamine Yamal cross. Ferran Torres doubled the lead moments later, converting Alex Balde’s cross with a brilliant finish.

Barcelona’s relentless pressure saw Raphinha round the keeper to make it 3-0, before Fermin López added an impressive fourth with a punch into the top corner. The first run of the half was completed just before the break when Fermin grabbed a rebound to clean up the second, leaving Valencia Shell to make it 5-0 at the interval.

Valencia rallied briefly in the second half when Hugo Duro pulled one back with a strong finish from Diego Lopez’s assist. However, Barcelona quickly extinguished any hope of a comeback. Substitute Robert Lewandowski headed home to make it six, before a Cesar Tarrega own goal sealed the emphatic victory.

AC Milan 3-2 Parma

AC Milan secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Parma in a dramatic Serie A clash at the San Siro.

The visitors took the lead in the 24th minute when Matteo Cancellieri curled a stunning effort into the bottom corner after exploiting a defensive slip by Theo Hernandez. Milan thought they had equalized minutes later through Alvaro Morata, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Parity was restored in the 37th minute after Strahinja Pavlovic was fouled in the box by Parma goalkeeper Chijioke Suzuki. Christian Pulisic converted the resulting penalty with a confident strike into the bottom corner.

The second half remained tense until the 80th minute, when Enrico del Prato capitalized on a rebound to put Parma back in front. However, Milan’s persistence paid off in stoppage time. Tijjani Reijnders latched onto Yunus Musah’s accurate pass to break the deadlock in the 92nd minute.

Minutes later, Samuel Chukwueze sealed the comeback by curling Pavlovic’s header past Suzuki to clinch the win. The win lifts Milan to seventh, while Parma drop to 16th.

Lecce 0-4 Inter Milan

Inter Milan produced a commanding performance to secure a 4-0 win over Lecce, closing the gap on Serie A leaders Napoli.

Davide Frattesi opened the scoring in the sixth minute, slotting home after a dazzling solo run and assist from Marcus Thuram. The Nerazzurri dominated the early proceedings, although two more goals were ruled out for offside. Lautaro Martinez doubled the lead in the 39th minute with a stunning strike into the top corner.

Lecce showed promise early in the second half but were undone in the 57th minute when Denzel Dumfries smashed home a third from a tight angle after Martinez’s assist. Substitute Mehdi Taremi made an immediate impact, converting a penalty just four minutes later after Frattesi was fouled by goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
