Suryakumar Yadav going through a lean patch

India’s Mr 360 has not been in good form with the bat since taking over the leadership of Rohit Sharma’s Indian T20i team.

He was in absolutely sensational form in 2022 and 2023, but there was a big dip in his performance in 2024 and things have been extremely poor in 2025 as well.

In the T20I series opener against the Three Lions at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Suryakumar drew a duck and in the second T20i, he returned to the hut after scoring 12 runs from 7 balls, with 3 fours.

On the fourth ball of the 6th over, Brydon Carse bowled a 141.9 kmph delivery to the Indian captain, who tried to steer it to third man, but was bowled across the room.

The ball then hit the middle of the bat and then turned towards the stumps and India were in a bit of trouble at 58/3. Overall, in his last 10 T20i innings, he has posted scores of 12 (7), 0 (3), 1 (4), 4 (9), 21 (17), 75 (35), 8 (10), 29 (14), 8 (9) and 26 (12).

What happened in the first T20i between India and England?

Likewise, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya contributed two wickets each, restricting England to a total of 132 in 132 overs.
