Suryakumar Yadav, speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, expressed his joy at the performance of the Indian bowlers. Suryakumar Yadav said:

“We are playing an aggressive brand of cricket but as the situation called for, the batsmen put their hands up. Very happy with the way Tilak batted.”

Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about the crucial contributions of Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh with the bat. He stated:

How India performed in 1st T20i vs England in Kolkata

India produced an impressive all-round performance to claim a dominant 7-wicket victory in the 1st T20i at the Eden Gardens. Chasing a modest target of 133, India cruised to victory with 43 balls to spare, thanks to the heroics of explosive opener Abhishek Sharma.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl, India struck before Arshdeep Singh dismissed Phil Salt and Ben Duckett in the first over. Varun Chakravarthy was the star with the ball, taking 3/23, including key wickets from Jos Buttler (68) and Liam Livingstone.

Buttler put up a brilliant fight with his brilliant knock, but the rest of England’s batting faltered against India’s disciplined attack. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya also ran into two doctors each as England managed just 132 runs in their 20 overs.

In the chase, India faced a minor hiccup as Jofra Archer removed Sanju Samson (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) in quick succession. However, Abhishek Sharma played an impressive knock, blasting 79 off 34 balls, including eight sixes and five fours. Also, Tilak Varma (19*) provided steady support as India completed the chase in just 12.5 runs.
