The incident took place during the 19th over of the match as Knight Riders cruised to a mammoth total against Emirates. The ball continued to sail towards long-on where Pollard was deployed. The 37-year-old lunged forward to make a remarkable catch at a time when the ball was expected to drop yards short of his position. The catch sent Russell back to the pavilion, who hit maximum from the first delivery of his innings and looked in fine form. Russell scored 6 runs and bowled only 2 balls in his short innings.

Emirates falls short of the target
Although Russell failed to score big runs for his franchise in the International T20 League (ILT20)the Knight Riders managed to muster a competitive total of 182/7 in their 20 overs. A strong display of being able to hit from Jason Holder in which he scored 22 off 7 balls and a knock of 55 runs Alishan Sharafu allowed the home team to reach that total.
In reply, the Emirates batsmen could not provide enough support for Pollard from the other end, whose knock of 69 runs off 49 balls was the visitors’ best performance. Despite their heroics in the field and bravery against the Knight Riders bowling unit, Emirates could only score 140/6 in their 20 overs and fell short of the target by 42 runs. With 3 wins in the tournament so far, both sides are now level on points, although Emirates have a slight edge over Knight Riders in net run percentage.
