President Donald Trump on Friday said he plans to take executive action to overhaul — or possibly shut down — the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, criticizing the agency for its response to historic flooding in North Carolina.

“I think we’re going to recommend that FEMA go,” Trump said at a roundtable in Asheville, North Carolina, which was devastated by Hurricane Helen in September.

Later on Friday, the president is going to travel to Los Angeles, where the fight against wildfires that have engulfed the city continues.
