(Photo by Getty)Here We Are‘ Sterling K. Brown shared an update on his old costars Mandy Moore a Milo Ventimiglia after both lost their homes in the wildfires in Los Angeles earlier this month.
The actor, 48, say Additional on Thursday, January 23, that he checked in on Moore and Ventimiglia after news broke that their house had gone up in flames.
“Talk to Milo, talk to Mandy. Spoke to both. It’s hard,” Brown, who played Randall Pearson on the show, told the outlet. “They’re just very much in the middle of it all. It’s one day at a time.”
Ventimiglia, 47, and his pregnant wife Loot Mariano’s Malibu home among the thousands destroyed by the fires.
In a similarly eerie coincidence, Ventimiglia’s Here We Are the character, Jack Pearson, died of smoke inhalation after the family home burned down in fictional scenes.
Ventimiglia touched on this as he said CBC News on January 9, “You know, it’s not lost on me, life imitating art.”
The actor, who watched his home burn down via security footage, told the outlet the loss was “heavy.”
“You start thinking about all the memories that are in different parts of the house and what not and then you see your neighbour’s houses and everything around you and your heart breaks,” she said.

(Photo by Getty)Meanwhile, Moore, 40, who played Ventimiglia’s on-screen wife Rebecca Pearson, was also affected by the wildfires.
The actress shared via Instagram on January 9 that her home in Altadena, which she shared with her husband, Taylor Goldsmithand Gus, 3, Ozzie, 2, and Lou, 4 months, were destroyed. In her post, she revealed that the “main part” of their home is still standing, but “is not alive.”
“We were able to park and walk up our street to witness all the loss. Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now,” he wrote via Instagram. “He’s not alive but mostly intact. We lost Taylor and (brother-in-law Griffin Goldsmith) studio with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned. We lost our garage and our back house.”
It is estimated that more than 12,000 structures were destroyed in the wildfires ravaging parts of Los Angeles including the exclusive Pacific Palisades area, Malibu, Santa Monica and the Hollywood Hills. Celebrities like Paris Hilton, Miles Teller, Spencer Pratt a Heidi Monday in samong those who lost their homes.
