Shawn Johnson Reacts After Her Husband Puts Her Bikini Picture On A Billboard

Olympian East Shawn Johnson gave a husband East Andrew her honest review after he decided to take a billboard of her bikini body for her birthday.

“I don’t (like it) — at all,” Johnson East, 33, told her husband in an Instagram Story video uploaded Tuesday, Jan. 21. “It’s not anger, it’s (disappointment).”

She continued, “He thought it was cute and it was about my birthday, obviously. It was a birthday present for me and I think it missed the mark. Just buy jewelry! It’s embarrassing and I’m sorry to say that he made a billboard – and decided to choose a bikini photo.”

East, 33, explained in the clip that he chose a “snorkel photo” even though the retired gymnast was wearing a two-piece swimsuit. (He further claimed that the tribute was to be “an ode to love.”)

“You put words over 90 percent of my body, but not my freaking crotch,” Johnson East explained. “If you’re a girl, you’ll be like, ‘I get it.’ What the (heck)?”

According to Johnson East, the billboard was placed “next to Vanderbilt University” in Nashville for the entire city to see.

“So, when you go in for your prestigious education and you look over and see that, I don’t think that’s a good reflection of what Vanderbilt can give you,” Johnson East said, joking about East’s alma mater. “I’m sure Vandy is so proud! I’m sorry for everything you get to see as you sit in Owen.”

East tried to ease his wife’s concerns, mentioning that the billboard is only up for “four more weeks”.

Johnson East also shared an image of the billboard, which featured four photos of her — including one in a swimsuit — alongside the text “Shawn Johnson Is Cool (Dot) Com.”

“My husband did what and I can only sum up my reaction as, like, disappointment,” she wrote alongside her upload.

The couple been married since 2016 and welcomed her daughter Drew in 2019. Sons of Jett and Bear to follow in 2021 and 2023, respectively.

“I feel like we’re slowly getting into a routine,” Johnson East said just say Us Weekly in March 2024. “It was touch and go there for a while, but we’re finally settling in, which feels more manageable.”

He added at the time, “Honestly, the first few weeks of three were great – it felt easy, as easy as can be. The only hard part was he was our first type of colicky baby. We had some things we needed to figure out, and we hadn’t dealt with that before.”
