CNET’s expert staff reviews and rates dozens of new products and services every month, building more than a quarter century of expertise.

If you hate buying new clothes because it feels like a chore, you’re not alone. It can be difficult to find clothes that fit your style and are comfortable enough, and it can be tedious to repeat the process every few months. If you can’t find the right type of dress online, or if going to the store feels too much of a hassle, you can try clothing subscription boxes. You can receive the clothes at home, saving you the time and effort of visiting a store. Finding the right clothing subscription for you can be tricky, so we’ve done the work for you. Our top picks are here to act as the ultimate guide, including picks for all bodies.

If you do a quick Google search, you’ll find dozens of clothing subscription services—many of which you’ve never heard of. Each has its own unique characteristics, but the services ultimately all work the same way.

When choosing the right clothing subscription for you, you need to take into account your needs, style preferences, and whether or not an affordable clothing subscription box is just scratching the surface. Some other questions may pop up: Do you want a monthly box? Or will something be done quarterly? Do you want to buy clothes or rent? Do you want a personal style service or an algorithm? Do you want a new outfit, or are you fine with a curated thrift? Avoiding fast fashion in favor of something more sustainable? Do you have favorite brands you want to join?

All these questions are important, but the most important thing to remember about these services is that even the most experienced stylists cannot read your mind. The more information you provide about your needs, personal style, likes and dislikes, the better your curated box of clothes will be.

I’ve tried several clothing subscription boxes; here are the best of the bunch.

The best clothing subscription boxes of 2025

As a Stitch Fix user, I can report a positive experience with this particular clothing subscription option. I’m always excited when I receive a box, which you can customize to come at whatever frequency suits your schedule and budget – no membership fee or monthly subscription required. My account is linked to one of my Pinterest boards, so my stylist can get more ideas of what I like, and she always leaves a thoughtful note in my box, which is a nice personalized touch. The Style Cards that come with each box also show different ways to pair the pieces (and often with basic items that are probably already in your closet). My advice is not to shell out money for an item unless you are of course you have to wear it quite often.

Sign up online or in the app (available at iOS o Android). Complete a detailed style profile, including your measurements, whether you hate or love shopping, whether you wear heels, what features you want to emphasize and other factors. Stitch Fix offers stylish boxes for menwomen and the childrenand allows you to set a preferred price point between $28 and $500 per item (children’s items start at $12 per item). I chose the lowest price when I signed up, and in my last box, none of my specific items were over $60. You pay a $20 styling fee when your box is assembled, you have three days to test the clothes, and you can return anything you don’t want or like. The $20 fee applies to everything you own, and if you own nothing, you only pay that fee. If you love your box and keep everything, you’ll also get a 25% Buy All discount.

Stitch Fix also has a direct purchase option, as well as a Shop Your Looks option. On the app’s homepage, you can scroll down to see individual items sorted into bargain categories. At the top, you can go to Freestyle, and it will show you the looks to buy. These allow you to buy individual items – pants, shoes, accessories and more – to match the pieces you already have. These can be ordered without having another box.

Although the US women’s average clothing size is between a Misses 16 and 18, many stores are always paying attention to smaller sizes. This can make for an uncomfortable and daunting shopping experience.

Day & Co.The style service challenges the often limited and dark choices that make up extended dimensions. The service offers sizes 10-32. My box was full of vibrant and colorful items – blouses, dresses, skirts, jeans, even a clutch. I always have a hard time finding jeans that fit my waist and hips, and Dia nailed it. The box also mixed classic pieces, like a blue polka-dot dress, with more colorful and printed pieces that were out of my comfort zone.

To use Dia & Co., first take a style quiz that asks about your measurements, how clothes typically fit you, your style preferences and your preferred price range for items like tops, pants and dress up. You pay a $20 styling fee to have your box assembled. When the box arrives, you can buy what you like and return what you don’t. The $20 fee applies at checkout to everything you have. You can order style boxes to best fit your schedule – every two weeks, three weeks, monthly, every two months or every three months – as long as you try and return the clothes within five days. If you have at least three items from your box, you get a 20% discount. If you have four to five items, you can save 25%, or save 30% when you have seven items. There is also one shop if you are not ready to try a whole box.

A Menlo Club the expedition combines many aspects of men’s clothing: clothes, shoes and sports. As with many other boxes, you first take a style quiz, and then you get two clothing items per month in the mail. Menlo’s clothing is casual enough to wear on its own if you’re a thinner dresser, but the more items you buy, the more you can put together new outfits and step out of your fashion comfort zone. In addition, the Menlo store, which anyone can shop without an account, often has good sales on designer brands – like $58 pants for $10. If you’re a member, you’ll also get a 25% discount in the store .

My husband’s Menlo Club package consisted of dark jeans and a long-sleeved white henley. His style is very laid-back, so those items fit easily in his wardrobe. Jeans will be easy to dress up or wear casually. Since I usually wear dark colors, the white was a nice change.

A service membership at Menlo costs $60 per monthand it’s easy to cancel (or skip a month) if you find it’s not for you—just make sure you do it before you’re charged that month. Menlo does not offer returns on packages, but you can exchange items if something doesn’t fit. You can also subscribe to a seasonal membershipwhere a package is sent every three months for that same price of $60 only once every three months.

Stylological is a clothing subscription service that offers women’s sizes from 12 to 36. What I liked most about it was how fast the service picked up my style based only on my style profile. I also like that each box provides a complete outfit, whereas other services tend to include pieces that may or may not go together. Stylogic includes a skirt, a cardigan, a top, a pair of shoes and a bracelet. The outfit matched my style and was still a bit adventurous.

A Stylogic box includes five items, and you have seven days to try them. There is a $20 style fee that applies to everything you hold, and if you don’t have anything, you just pay that fee. If you love your box and keep everything, you get a 20% discount.

Each clothing subscription box from Fashionable butler includes at least two items of clothing from brands such as Eleven Paris, Civil Society, Zanerobe, WeSC and Superdry that are meant to build your wardrobe. My husband’s sample package included three items: a gray long-sleeved shirt, a navy button-down, and a pair of navy pants. The items were able to work together and could easily integrate into their wardrobe, without going too far out of their comfort zone.

Packages cost $65 a month with no styling fees – you get to keep everything. The credit card on your account is charged on the day you place your order and on the same day the following month. Trendy Butler also has an online store where you can buy specific pieces with your account.

If something doesn’t work in your box, Trendy Butler offers returns (but not refunds) and exchanges for members through their support email. You must have received the items within the last 60 days, explain why the items don’t work so Trendy Butler can improve your profile, and have the clothes in “unworn condition” with the tags still on. If the items meet these criteria, you will be sent a prepaid return label.
