Kristin Davis Remembers Being Inspired by an Actor After Lending Him $5000

And Just Like That a Sex and the City a star Kristin Davies more than familiar with the real-life rollercoaster ride of modern dating.

During the episode of her podcast on Monday, January 20, “Are you Charlotte?” Davis, 59, revealed that she once loaned an “out of work” actor $5,000 before he hurriedly ghosted her.

Davis, who portrayed Charlotte York on the hit HBO series Sex and the City before reprising the role for the 2021 reboot, as a podcast guest Sarah Wynter – appeared in the SATC pilot — that the man’s response to her generous gesture had stunned her.

She detailed how the man was an “out of work actor” she had been seeing before starting SATCwhich is now “very successful.” Davis had lent him “all of $5,000,” after noticing notices around his home threatening to turn off his electricity. She had also learned that he had “wrecked his motorbike” so he was unable to attend auditions.

“He was very talented, but, at the time, I had money because I had been working,” Davis explained. “It changed the dynamic in a horrible way … but I guess I should have known better. So I loaned him this money and then, you know, he stops calling. So I’m like, ‘What the heck?'”

Davis added that she confronted the man – which didn’t exactly help her situation.

“I remember going over to his apartment and knocking on the door,” Davis said on the podcast. “And his dog was in there, and I loved his dog, and I could hear his dog. But I was like, ‘Is he in there and pretending he’s not in there?'”

Although Davis was not greeted at the door, she later received a phone call from the man, who asked her if she was the person knocking on his door.

“I was like, ‘Well, yes,'” Davis said. “I felt so embarrassed, that I was being messy. I’d love to get recognition or whatever, which is kind of a fantasy.”

Not focused on the drama. Kristin Davis addressed Kim Cattrall’s cameo on And Just Like That – which was reportedly not filmed alongside any of her former Sex and the City costars. “You have to respect people’s wishes. I’m not going to waste energy on it. I can’t change anyone,” Davis, 58, told The Telegraph on (…)

Although he did not reveal who the man was, Davis offered some details about what he might be doing these days. “He lives out in the country with some kids, so I don’t think I want to show up there,” he said.

Reflecting on the ordeal further, Davis labeled her decision a “horrible mistake” before urging her listeners to avoid repeating her actions. “Don’t do that,” Davis said. “It doesn’t end well.”

Charlotte Davis has famously experienced her own fair share of exciting dating scenarios over six seasons of SATCbefore it developed into two seasons of AJLT. In real life, Davis is single and the mother of two adopted children: a daughter, Gemma Rose, who she adopted in 2011, and a son, Wilson, who she adopted in 2018.
