As fans are still reeling over Matt James a Rachael Kirkconnelldivision, Us They couldn’t help but wonder if they could hand out (or receive) roses again one day.
“I think it’s open,” host Jesse Palmer say Us Weekly during a exclusive interview for its partnership with Great Clips. “Firstly, I was very sad to read that and see that too. And I certainly hope they are both doing well. This must be a very difficult time for both of them. And I know they want (and) are going to need time to process everything that happened.”
James, 33, announced on Thursday, January 16, that he and Kirkconnell, 28, had split. He used a photo from season 25 of The Bachelor – where they met four years ago – for his top publishing job.
“I think the last thing they wanted to think about is rushing back to the show,” Palmer continued. “These decisions go way over my head. I totally think, though, that the show would consider getting one or both back at some point down the road if they were open to it. Absolutely.”
While Kirkconnell and James are the latest split to rock Bachelor Nation, the latest season of the show – The Golden Bachelorette season 1 stars Joan Vassos — ended with an engagement.

Vassos, 62, and Chapple, 61, have said they are in no rush to walk down the aisle.
“But I know they’re both very excited,” Palmer continued. “They enjoy each other’s company. And listen, I certainly hope that wedding bells are on the horizon sooner than later, but they have earned this right to have their time to enjoy each other and if they need an officiant, I know a guy. “
Meanwhile, Palmer is preparing for the premiere of Grant Ellis‘ season 29 of The Bachelor.

Disney/John Fleenor“I don’t want to speak for Grant, but I think he’s very, very happy with how things ended,” Palmer teased Us. “I know it’s very exciting for everyone to watch this whole thing unfold. Grant is a very easy guy to root for. I’m a fan of his and I know he’s a guy who’s been so successful in everything he’s done in his life outside of love (so far).”
Fans who have been waiting for the ABC show to return have seen plenty of Palmer on the network through its Great Clips commercial, which aired throughout the College Football Playoff and promoted the brand’s $9.99 haircut.
“I’m sorry, I’m not sorry,” he joked Us for how often the advertisement was broadcast. “I had so much fun doing that. It was great. It’s the best time of the year — The national championship, the playoffs. We all want to look and feel our best. It’s great.”
The Great Clips coupon is only valid at participating salons until January 31, 2025.
