At least six Palestinians were killed and 35 wounded after Israeli security forces launched a major operation in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel’s military, police and Shin Bet security forces had launched a “major and significant” operation to “eradicate terrorism” in Jenin.
Palestinian media reported that Israeli soldiers entered Jenin and its refugee camp on Tuesday morning after several drone strikes.
It followed a week-long operation in the camp by Palestinian security forces targeting armed groups they see as challenging their rule.
