The 33-year-old batsman admitted that the prospect of returning to the Indian team continues to fuel his desire to perform at the highest level.
“Obviously, the possibility of a return to India has to be in mind. If you want to play for the country, you have to keep dreaming. There are those thoughts and dreams in your head, but that’s just motivation.” Nair stated as quoted by Hindustan Times.
In addition, he explained that his mentality is driven by the constant desire to improve and improve his performances.
“The mindset comes from wanting to keep getting better every day when I go out to play. Not being happy with what you’ve done in the past to keep wanting to do better in the future,” added Nair.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on the Champions Trophy squad, Nair remains determined to continue working on his game, remaining hopeful that his chance to represent India will come soon.
