The Reagans came together to defend New York City in the epic and emotional Blue Blood series finale after a madman threatens to endanger all their lives.
Warning: Spoilers below for Blue Bloods season 14, episode 18.
The episode began on Friday, December 13, with the murder of a NYC judge, who sent shock waves through the city. As Danny Reagan’s Detectives (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) began investigating the killing, beat cop Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) and Luis Badillo (Ian Quinlan) responded to a carjack call heard over the radio.
Eddie and Badillo are accosted by gunmen on motorbikes as soon as they get out of their vehicle – and are both shot. Across town, two men set fire to a different motorcycle in Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh), who is rushed to hospital.
In the office of Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and her colleagues are surprised to receive a threatening video from a man in a mask saying that New York gangs are united and ready to continue killing officers and officers unless some prisoners are released.
Soon everyone realizes that their cases are all connected, with the Ace Double Tres (ADT) gang and Carlos Ramirez (Manny Perez) in the middle of the chaos.
Before the mayor goes into surgery for his injuries, he gives Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) the keys to the city and tells him to “get us out of this.” Frank does just that and uses all the resources at his disposal, which includes Erin questioning her ex-husband, Jack Boyle (Peter Hermann), to pull a few strings and have a sit down with prisoner Lorenzo Batista (Edward James Olmos), whose son shot the mayor.
Although he worries about his wife, Eddie, who survived her attack, Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), working with his nephew Joe Hill (Will Hochman) to find one of the shooters. Badillo, unfortunately, does not.
Meanwhile, Eddie doesn’t stay down for long and jumps back into action after Ramirez’s daughter – whom fans met earlier this season – calls her and says her father is scaring her. After his own brush with death, Danny hit Ramirez, rescued his daughter and took him into custody (using his usual charm and pull as a father himself).
Eventually, Jamie and Joe find the gunman who shot Badillo when he came to visit his newborn baby in the hospital. Before taking him away, Jamie called Eddie to cuff him, which he did using Badillo’s police cuffs. The mayor’s shooter was also found and captured.
After a turbulent few days, the Reagans get all the bad guys responsible for the threats and the shooting. Following Badillo’s police funeral – which was attended by everyone – the family celebrated their victory with a family dinner.
As well as Frank, Danny, Erin, Jamie and Eddie, Henry Reagan’s grandfather (Only from Caria) and grandchildren Frank, Nicky (Sami Gayle), Jack (Tony Terraciano) and Sean (Andrew Terracino), each had seats at the table. Erin’s partner was on and again, Jack, also sitting next to her.
“We have a lot to be thankful for. Look around this tableI have to say, I couldn’t be more proud and grateful,” gushed Frank before they all said grace one last time.

Frank happily handed the keys to the city back to the mayor after that save the day with the help of his family and his officers. He then attended Badillo’s funeral with all his loved ones by his side and shared a sweet message to Badillo’s mother. “Please, look around you, Luis’ whole family is here with you today,” she said as tears fell over the crowd.
Frank stayed on top of his family’s table to close the series – and he was still the police commissioner of New York City.
Henry stayed out of trouble throughout the finale but he offered wise advice to his eldest grandson, Danny, about his love life. At the end of the episode, Henry was happy and healthy, still living with his son, Frank.
During his hunt for Ramirez and his daughter, Danny has a heart to heart with Henry about his personal life. “I always told you not to bring the job home,” Henry reminded Danny, noting that the “problem now is you don’t have anyone not to bring it home to.” He then told Danny to promise that he would “find someone” after this case.
Danny heard his grandfather loud and clear, later asked his work partnerBaez, on what appeared to be a date. “You want a pizza?” Danny said before the two left the enclosure arm in arm.
After Jack helped the Reagan family as a favor to Erin, the pair went for a walk. Erin and Jack, who had divorced but had been seeing each other again, took a a trip down memory laneremembering how they are a good team.
“We tried marriage, remember?” Jack reminded Erin, who replied, “Yes, and despite our best efforts, we’re still here. One foot in and one foot out. Maybe we’ll try both feet?”
He pointed out that “everyone deserves a second chance” and promised that it would be “different this time.” Then Erin offered, “A party of two? City Hall? Tell everyone about it after the fact?”
Jack agreed, and during the family dinner, Erin said she had an announcement, hinting at the pair’s secret wedding. However, after Jamie and Eddie shared their own big news, Erin chose to keep it quiet, giving Jack a knowing look on the table.
Jamie and Joe successfully worked together to find a suspect, which was a heartwarming moment as Jamie had given Joe a car belonging to his late father and Jamie’s brother, Joe Reagan, earlier in the season. this.
The collaboration was even more emotional after Jamie almost lost his wife to the shoot. Fortunately, Jamie and Eddie were both safe to conclude the series. However, Eddie was late for family dinner – and everyone noticed.
When she finally arrived, she was carrying a high chair to add to the table. “We’re going to use it when the baby is born,” Jamie revealed. Eddie confirmed her pregnancy, saying her due date was in June.
