Jason Tartick may have had Erin Lichy on his podcast, but fans were quick to assume he was interviewing his ex-fiancée, Kaitlyn Bristowe.
“Do you want to know what happened when I reposted your story?” Tartick, 36, asked Lichy, 37, on the episode on Monday, January 20, of his “Trading Secrets” a podcast. “A ton of people were like, ‘Oh my God, I thought this was your ex-fiance.’ I didn’t realize it, but the one picture I put (up) was looking at it. I was like, ‘Oh s—.'”
Tartick explained that he doesn’t think Lichy and Bristowe, 39, “really look alike,” but in that one photo, his reaction was, “Oh, my God.”
“They thought you were interviewing your ex-fiance?” Lichy asked, to which Tartick replied, “They’re like, ‘I had to triple check there.’ I’m like, ‘No.’ Because that would have been an interesting interview.”
Kaitlyn Bristowe was not subtle when sharing her feelings after ex-fiancé Jason Tartick took his new relationship public. “People make me f-king sick,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story on Thursday, June 13. Tartick and Bristowe announced in August 2023 that they had called it quits two years into their engagement. The pair have continued to offer insight into their split, with Bristowe suggesting that Tartick had a “victim mentality” following their break-up.
“I don’t want to ignore that it hurts. I don’t want to dismiss that his feelings are genuine and his feelings hurt,” she said during an episode of her podcast “Off the Vine” in January 2024. “I’ve talked to him so openly and honestly. We have been so transparent with each other to respect each other. “
After Tartick he went public with that then-boyfriend Kat Stickler months later, Bristowe appeared to have weighed in on the relationship. “People make me sick,” Bristowe wrote in various Instagram Story posts in June 2024. “What people will do to get attention makes me want to leave the internet forever .”
Tartick and Stickler, 30, has since splitannounce their decision to part ways in October 2024 after six months of dating. Bristol, for her part, sparking romance rumours with Zach Clark on New Year’s Eve in 2023 – and they quickly had rumors that she was unfaithful to Tartick.
“You’d think by now I’d be used to the hate. i don’t Your words hurt. Your shame hurts. Part of me feels a little sad and honestly embarrassed for you because this shouldn’t be how you spend day 1 of a new year,” Bristowe wrote via her Instagram Story in January 2024. “You shouldn’t invest so much in someone you don’t even know or respect. It’s really scary, and I know that looking inside might be even scarier for you. But the bullying is on the next level. You are allowed to have opinions and feelings.”
He continued, “But you don’t even know the truth, and your HATE really should have consequences. I am really concerned about some of your mental health. It’s not right. It is. No. Please. Feel ashamed of yourselves for treating someone you don’t know like this. I didn’t kill someone. I had a party with some of my favorite people. Shame. Ar. YOU. Not me.”
In response to a separate post, Bristowe answered the rumors directly, writing, “Here to say that there was never an ounce of cheating and I will not stand for this rumor. Everyone is nasty here. Anyone. Swear on my dogs life. No kidding he went on. So we can put that to rest. Thank you!! Happy new year everyone. Go give blood or something!”
