The Ashes of a woman 2025 has entered another exciting chapter in white-ball cricket with the start of the first T20I between the Australia i England women Australia Women’s team has remained unbeaten during the 3-match ODI series between the two nations and has set its sights on winning the first 1st T20I to eventually win another Women’s Ashes.
A good insight into the batting display that cements their quest to claim the Ashes came from Australia’s top-order batsman Phoebe Litchfield as he hit an unconventional six to add to the already exciting batting display by the Aussies.
Litchfield came to the crease during the fourth quarter of the game as a rookie full georgia he was sent back to the pavilion after a brave display of 21 runs off 11 balls. The top-order ace, after spending some time on the pitch, took the offensive matters into his own hands and started wreaking havoc on the English bowlers.
The highlight of his short-lived but crucial innings came when during the eighth over of the innings he received a full delivery of Sarah Glenn on his bat switching sides instantly anticipating the ball being thrown. The otherwise left-handed batsman turned to his right and smashed a six outside off for a brilliant six, surprising the English players and the crowd. Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
His unconventional six was the only high in his innings of 25 runs off 20 balls before he was unfortunately bowled out by Heather Knight in an excellent fielding display. Litchfield crucially provided a solid base of support for the wicketkeeper-batsman Beth Mooney who played a remarkable innings of 75 runs off 51 balls.

In an outstanding display of their batting prowess, Australia posted a respectable total of 198 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Mooney’s steady and skilful innings was the highlight of the Australian innings. In addition, he was supported by Voll, Litchfield and the skipper Tahila McGrath which made 21, 25 and 26 runs respectively.
England’s bowling display had a night to forget at the SCG. Lauren Bell i Sophie Ecclestone they were the only bowlers to have any impact on the Australian batsmen. Both English bowlers took 2 Australian wickets each. Glenn had a tough game with the ball as he gave away 40 runs in just 3 overs which he bowled without taking a wicket.
