Olympiad Ilona Maher is nursing brutal injury following a violent collision at a recent Bristol Bears rugby match.

Maher, 28, shared an update via Instagram on Saturday, January 18, writing, “When people keep asking me if I’m okay but I broke my nose.”

Maher included a video of herself holding a bag of ice to her face. She also felt lips, “Been better, Carrie Ann.” (The athlete previously said the phrase last year Dancing With The Stars (judge Inaba asked why Maher was crying after she received harsh feedback on her performance.)

In her post caption, Maher further revealed how she was getting better.

Maher’s facial swelling went down within hours, but she was still left with a small purple mark around her eye. On Sunday, January 19, videoshe wondered what people would think was happening to her.

“Guys, stop fighting over me,” Maher joked. “There’s plenty to go around. What? I’m a model. Thank you very much. Oh, you’ve already fallen in love? It will pass.”

Maher, who won a bronze medal with the US Women’s Rugby Team at the 2024 Summer Olympics, recently moved to England after signing with the Bristol squad.

Fresh off her Olympic victory, Maher compete on DWTS season 33 and finish second with a pro partner Alan Bersten. Amidst his athletic training, Maher has gone viral for online content about dating. She is not, however, looking for love at the moment.

“I think it would take someone very special, someone who, as we say, improves my life for me to want to do it,” he told Us. “I saw one video of a girl who is like, ‘As we know, Ilona hasn’t been on a date in years.’ Incorrect. I go on dates. I don’t like many people. … I always love making connections and meeting people. I think first dates are fun.”

Maher continued at the time, “You can tell right away if you don’t like someone, but then it can also be, actually, a cool experience. So, whatever happens. I’m looking for a British baby, I guess.”
