Travis Kelce feels ’22’ after having season-best performance in Chiefs playoff win

Travis Kelce had his best game of the season in the biggest game of the Kansas City Chiefs season at the time.

Kelce had seven catches on eight targets for 117 yards and a touchdown. It was the most yards he had in a single game during the 2024 season, as the Chiefs won the game 23-14 and advanced to their seventh straight AFC Championship game.

The star tight end was asked how he was feeling while speaking with reporters.

“Twenty-two baby, 22,” he said, referencing his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s song “22.”

It was the same joke he used when he appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” before the playoffs. He was asked if he felt the energy of the young athlete.

“I don’t know about you, but I feel like 22,” he told McAfee earlier this month.

Kelce was able to turn back the clock and end the retirement rumors for at least another week.

During the season, Kelce faced various criticisms, accusations that he was washed up or wastes too much time with his girlfriend. He still managed 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games.

Even at the age of 35, Kelce has been healthy all season and only missed Week 18 when the Chiefs decided to rest their starters, having already completed their bye week. With retirement in the air as the season enters its final stretch, Kells was asked if Swift was thinking about calling it a career.
