India captain Rohit Sharma and chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar participated in the press conference to announce India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against England and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
At the end of the press conference, Rohit did something that was not expected of him. The 37-year-old used abusive language which was immediately caught by the microphone on live TV.
As the press conference concluded, both Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar smiled after answering reporters’ questions and the former was heard to say, “Ekdum boring tha PC, behen****.”

Both Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar walked away and left the room after answering questions from reporters. There were several doubts but both cleared them all.
Meanwhile, the press conference was held to announce India’s squad for the ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy 2025. Rohit Sharma will lead the team while Shubman Gill will retain his vice-captain position.
Both Rohit and Gill are likely to open for India in the first match of the Champions Trophy. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been picked in the squad as the third opener despite not having played an ODI so far. Jaiswal has been prolific in both the Test and T20I formats and has now been rewarded with an ODI call-up.
Virat Kohli will occupy his usual No.3 spot and will be one of the crucial players for India despite his poor form as a batsman. Shreyas Iyer has retained his middle-order spot after impressive outings in the ODI format last time India played.
KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have been picked as wicketkeepers out of place for Sanju Samson. Hardik Pandya is the only fast bowler in the team as the selectors have opted for the selection of exciting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Pandya has not played much 50-over cricket in recent times and it remains to be seen how he performs in the tournament. There is a strong presence of spin bowling in the team which could have been due to the spin-friendly conditions in the UAE.
Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are all capable of bowling their full share of overs and can also contribute with the bat in the lower order. Kuldeep Yadav is the team’s lone specialist spinner.
The fast bowling looks in good shape if Jasprit Bumrah gets fit in time. Bumrah has been named but his availability in the first two ODIs against England will be subject to fitness. Harshit Rana has been added as Bumrah’s replacement.
Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh are the other two fast bowlers in the squad. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj has been omitted from the squad in favor of death specialist Arshdeep Singh.
