The second day of the inaugural test between Pakistan and the West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium began with Pakistan resuming their first innings at 143 for 4, with Saud Shakeel i Mohammad Rizwan on the fold Shakeel was on 56 and Rizwan on 51, both having played a crucial role in stabilizing the innings after a shaky start. However, Shakeel fell short of a century, eventually scoring 84 runs before being dismissed by Kevin Sinclairwhich led to a dramatic collapse for Pakistan.
Pakistan’s batting line-up faced a major setback as they lost their last six wickets for just 43 runs, ending their first innings total of 230 runs. The West Indies bowlers especially Jayden Seales i Jomel Warricantook advantage of the conditions effectively. The fall of wickets was rapid, with key players like Rizwan i Agha Salman he also succumbed to the pressure, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position.
In response, West Indies faced a daunting task. Their innings got off to a disastrous start as they were reduced to 10 for 2 in just two overs. Noman Ali i Sajid Khan they were relentless with their bowling, making the most of the spin-friendly conditions. Ali was particularly impressive, securing five wickets for just 39 runs in his 11 overs. Khan supported him well with four wickets for 65 runs in his 12 overs. The West Indies batting line-up crumbled under the pressure, managing just 137 runs before being bowled out in just over 25 overs.
By the end of Day 2, Pakistan had established a lead of 202 runs. They were 109 after losing three quick wickets but still kept control of the match. Shan Masood led from the front with a solid innings of 52 runs before being run out. Muhammad Hurraira he contributed a prudent 29 runs as the team looked to extend their lead further.
