Stevenson: Schofield will withdraw from the fight

Shakur Stevenson is convinced that challenger Floyd Schofield can walk out of his February 22 fight with some excuse he’s been dreaming up to walk out of the match.

WBC lightweight champion Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) says Team Schofield’s allegations that he has a spy in camp to learn secrets, slashes his tires and messes with his passport are indications that it will be withdrawn.

Shakur predicts the exit

It’s not a good idea for Stevenson to continue to discuss his unproven theory that Kid Austin is pulling out of the fight because he’s discussing the match, and it will cause the fans to lose interest. He has to talk about the fight and try to get the fans excited.

However, Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) doesn’t seem intimidated by Stevenson and seems confident that he will be able to get to him and pound the light punching champion. We don’t know how well Shakur will hold up in the fight because he’s coming off surgery on his right hand, and he still didn’t use that hand last week in practice.

“I feel like they’re trying to get out of the fight. They say, ‘He did all this,’ and when they don’t show up for the fight, it’s going to be an excuse. They’re going to try to blame me and say something I did. Some fake shit to pull out of the fight,” Shakur Stevenson said Cigar talk about Floyd Schofield and his father.

“I don’t have to do it. We’re dealing with Kid Austin. I already saw him fight. He’s going to throw a big hard left hand,” Shakur said when asked about the claims Team Schofield made about them believing Stevenson has spies trying to get information on his training methods.

“He (Schofield) is going to switch and then throw a hard left hand over the top. He’s going to throw a hard left hook. His right hand isn’t really bullshit. It’s science. Nothing’s going to happen again. He’s not going to beat anybody else,” he Shakur said.

It would be interesting to know if Shakur actually believes that Schofield is trying to get out of the fight, as this suggests that his beliefs are not based in reality. Stevenson is not a good judge of people as it is obvious that Kid Austin is not going to back down from the fight and sees this as his big opportunity. The money is good, and it’s Floyd’s chance to become a star by winning.

If Schofield was afraid?

“I don’t need to do any extracurricular crap to take advantage of it. I think he’s scared, and I’m starting to fear that he might get out of the fight. I’m training my ** out, signed, and then you guys get out of the fray. That’s a piece of shit bro,” Shakur said.

“I don’t even have to watch (Schofield’s) tape. I already watched it. I know what to expect,” Shakur said.
