Travis Kelce has opened up about his relationship with Taylor Swiftrevealing how she has been a positive force in his NFL career.
Kelce, 35, gushed about Swift35, during an interview on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” which aired on Wednesday, January 15.
“She really encourages me to enjoy playing this game,” Kelce said. “She loves coming to Arrowhead (Stadium) and coming to the games and cheering for me, so I had all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
He continued, “I think, personally, the beauty of being in a really strong relationship is that you have that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft, focusing on being the best version of you.”
The support goes both ways in their relationship. “That’s why I wanted to be at (her) concerts supporting her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and has support in everything she does in life,” gushed Kelce.
At another point in the interview, he addressed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end speculation about when he would retiresaying his views on the subject “change every day.”
“I’ll reassess it like I always do, and I’ll probably tell myself how much I love this thing, and come back next year,” he said. “But it’s something you have to keep in perspective, and I never want to get to the point where I’m not helping this team win or I’m hurting this team more than I help this team.”
This isn’t the first time Kelce has opened up about the possibility of retirement. Speaking to KMBC 9 in June 2024, the football star said he “can’t put a timetable on it.”
“I know there are opportunities outside of football for me,” he said. (Over the past year, Kelce has expanded his horizons beyond sports, even trying his hand at acting on FX’s Grotesquerie.)

“I love coming to work every day, doing this. I’m going to do it until the wheels fall off and hopefully that won’t happen soon,” he added.
Kelce and Swift were first linked in July 2023, when Kelce revealed on her “New Height” podcast in which he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it The Journey of the Eras in Kansas City. Although Kelce did not get to meet Swift at the time, the pair later connected, and their relationship was announced when Swift attended a Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears game in September 2023.
Since then, the couple have continued to publicly support each other, with Swift attending a number of Chiefs games – including the 2024 Super Bowl. Kelce, for his part, has attended a number of Swift’s shows and even has made an appearance on the stage in The Journey of the Eras in London last summer.
