Turki Al-Sheikh says he will talk to the recently retired Tyson Fury about bringing him back. He says he wants to give away ‘The Gypsy King’ “some time” to be with his family before talking to him about fighting.
Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) could still be salty from his recent loss to unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on Dec. 21 in Riyadh. In the post-fight press conference, he was in full denial mode, unwilling to accept that Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) had soundly beaten him in his 12-round unanimous decision win.
Tyson claimed that he had won by three rounds, and many of his fans supported this illusion by saying the same. Interestingly, Tyson also felt that he won the first fight with Usyk. He just thinks the judges worked him over and he’s bitter about it.
The retirement bit was a classic ‘Gypsy King’ knee-jerk reaction, as if to say, ‘You don’t have to kick me anymore.’ It’s in full soak mode, it feels passive-aggressive to punish the boxing world for not giving him the win over Usyk.
It’s so childish yet totally predictable from Fury. He wants to satisfy his needs with the victory that has been given to him, and cannot accept defeat with a rigid upper limit like most mature adults. He can’t process the defeat.
“First of all, this kind of decision has to be made by the fighters. Of course, as a boxing fan, I don’t like it,” said Turki Al-Sheikh a talkSport Boxing on Tyson Fury’s retirement.
“We want to see Tyson in more big fights, but I can understand his situation. You don’t know, this kind of decision can change over time. I will support him and discuss it with him. I will leave him for a while to be with his family and then we can talk about it.”
Fury will obviously fight again. When Turki million waves under his snot for a fight with Joshua, he’ll come back and act like his old self. Tyson loves money too much not to take that money for AJ fights again.
