Tom Cillo Hoping to prove that age is just a number – even on the football pitch.
Cillo, 58, is currently Freshman’s defensive liner for the Lycoming College Football team in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

More than four decades after graduating from Williamsport High School, Cillo gives a ball another shot after giving up the high school team during his new year and participating in drugs and alcohol.
“Honestly, I would have liked to have done this right out of high school, but my youth’s indiscretions stopped that,” said Cillo The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Cillo has been hitting the books too. He focuses on criminal justice in lycoming as he lives out his Gridiron dreams.

How came Tom Cillo, 58, to play college football?
After ever attending college, Cillo hit coach Lycoming Mike Clark and asked for a meeting.
Like the NCAA Section III School, Lycoming has an age limit on student athletes.
“My standard type of joke is that if it looked like the 58 -year -old version of me, I would never let it play,” said Clark The Philadelphia Inquirer Before starting the 2025 season. “But it is legal strong and takes very good care of his body. That does not make him easy, but his desire to make him were very strong.”
Clark added, “He wants to go after the dream. And even if he doesn’t play a significant number of plays for us, I think there is an incredible value in what he can help teach the men on our team.”
Cillo saw no plays during the first two games of Lycoming, both losses.
What was Tom Cillo doing before he registered at Lycoming College?
Cillo resigned from his post as equipment manager in his Alma Mater, Williamsport High School, to be a full -time student in Lycoming.
“When I was a young man, I would walk through every day to get to the YMCA,” Cillo told the Williamsport Sun Gazette In August for the Lycoming Campus. “I’ve always got a liking from college and that’s one of the reasons I want to make it work there.”
Cillo is the father of three children: son Shall32, girl Nicole28, and son Rye21.
Cillo is a skilled power riser
Cillo still has decades of competition in power lifting, Strongman competitions and has run multiple half marathons.
Last year, Cillo broke the Deadlift Province of Pennsylvania (580 lbs) for the 55-59 age group.

Cillo is mistaken for an on -campus instructor
Not every day a 58-year-old man explores a college campus-not as a student.
When Cillo first arrived and tried to enter the dining hall, staff members would hold a chart for him to sign him, assuming he was a coach.
“They would hold the chart out to me and I would say, ‘I’m a player,’ said Cillo The Philadelphia Inquirer. “And one woman said, ‘Oh, come on, stop.’ I think some people still get used to the idea of this guy.
