Taking this position, the PCB has not only defended its move, but also called into question the ICC handling on the matter.
Previously, the ICC sent a formal email to the PCB accusing the council of “misconduct” and multiple breaches of the rules of the players and the area of the party officers (PMOA) before the Pakistan group’s match against the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, September 17.
It is said that Pakistan allowed the media director Naeem Gillani filmed a pre -match meeting involved in the coincidence referee Andy Pycroft, Captain Salman Ali Agha and the main coach Mike Hesson, despite the fact that these things are strictly banned by the ICC regulations.
PTI said that a source of the tournament said: “ICC’s CEO, Sanjog Gupta, wrote to the PCB, who stated that the Council has been guilty of PMOA violations on party day. The PCB receives the email. PCB brought his media manager to the meeting and insisted that he would be present during the conversation.”

They stated that if the protocol was raped, the party referee should have informed the Asian Cricket officer (ACC), instead of taking the CPI to the action. Now, it is left to see how the ICC reacts to its answer.
In the meantime, there are several reasons why Pakistan decided to participate in the 2025 in progress in the ongoing Asia Cup, despite the controversy of the hand India. Initially, Pakistan had demanded the removal of Pycroft and even set aside from leaving the tournament. However, financial realities forced a change in plans. With Sony with media rights worth $ 170 million for the Asia Cup cycle 2024-31, Pakistan lost $ 10-15 million if he retired.
Revenue was included in sponsorship, entries and the participation of complete members nations. The PCB also faced possible sanctions of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) under the pressure of the stations and other boards. In the face of great financial and regulatory risks, Pakistan decided to finally play.
